SATA 2.0= 300MB/s peak transfer speed. We end up with around 150-240MB/s depending on type of drive used (5400rpm,7200rpm, SSD[limited])
SATA 3.0= 600MB/s peak. Real world performance is usually up to 500+MB/s depending on type of drive used (SSD)
Why this matters is cause this on the hardware side of things will amount to a literal halving+ in loading times. So anything that needs to be loaded from the internal HDD will happen much much much (and noticeably) faster.
While this is a great step in the right direction (mind boggling the PS4 didn't launch with a 3.0 sata interface to begin with!!!) I would have been more excited about M.2 support with 2000MB/s+ speeds; ah well.... baby steps I guess.
