Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Some NEW NX news. (not ground breaking)

Must be a really easy and intuitive device if they have to train their own people..

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Nintendo has never had a national sales / training meeting before?  That is odd to me.

Probably not...

Generally when doing something like this, you'd have a national meeting for the higher ups, who would then pass the information to those lower on the chain.  Having all of their reps go to one location is logistically challenging and really expensive.

What this may indicate (if true) is that Nintendo has another product that may be difficult to explain (like the Wii U) and they are working harder on ensuring the message is clear.

But that is what they're doing....my rep is being sent along with the others 1st week of janurary, it's not for the higher ups.

Still a rumour because a random guy on the internet saying `not a rumour` doesn`t make it so...

But anyways, if it is true that sounds bad. The staff shouldn`t need training to know how to use/sell a console. So if they`re doing that then it would imply that it`s not a regular console and has some weird gimmick.

The wii U failed partly because people barely understood what it was. If true, this would mean Nintendo is making sure no questions are left with the retailers.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

I am so happy that my hype is all gone, I was really anxious for a while.
My 15 years old niece came visit me today and she looked pretty sad. She is the girl that I gave my PSP and 3DS as gifts last year.
I asked what happened while we played Ps4 and she said it was nothing. My sister then told me her PS2 broke, but that she did not want me to know.
So I packed my WiiU with 10 games, brand new, still with a perfect box and asked her: "Heym do you want a free video game sweety?"
She was really happy about it.
I am officially done with Nintendo.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

My point was more that ideally there shouldn`t even be any questions in the first place.

If your product is totally something new and different than others products on market, then there will definitely be some questions, and we know Nintendo talked about "new concept and new way of playing".

If this is a true, than this means that NX is on track for March release.

Not true as many new type of products would require such training it's a common thing in the financial sector for one as if the reps don't fully understand the benefits they can't do a good job selling it, it's the same in many other industries.

This is still a rumor since nothing has been confirmed....

Damn, so Nintendo is flying people from retailers to a location to train them? This tells me three things:
1) It's a complicated device that needs a fair amount of understanding to describe accordingly
2) Nintendo have learned from their mistakes with the Wii U
3) Nintendo is trying real hard to make this as successful as possible

Two of those points are positive things, but it's also worrisome; a device that is hard to understand and use is a hard sell. Wii was so simple, while the Wii U wasn't. And look what that got Nintendo.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Yeah but this is a game console, not some kind of financial deal. I don`t know about you but all I want when it comes to a new console is for it to do the same as the old one except bigger and/or better. Given the sales of PS and Xbox console I think it`s fair to say that I`m not alone in thinking that way.

Did you not read my post it's common in many industries Apple did the same with the first iPhones and such this isn't something out of the ordinary. That maybe all you want from a console but for the industry that's a dead end trail, the very consoles you mentioned are built on previous consoles doing what Nintendo are going for in the NX that's what gives you your bigger and better.
