My vote goes for Unreal Tournament for multiplayer and Bioshock Infinite for single-player.
Co-op is naturally Halo, of course.

Most of the 90s FPS (guess it extends to early 2000s a little bit) [Doom, Quake, Unreal, Timesplitters, Rott, Blood, etc]
Only great modern FPS are Metro, STALKER and Flying Wild Hog games (Hard Reset, Shadow warrior). Rage was good too, albeit somewhat short of greatness.
Best overall FPS for sp and mp:
Goldeneye 64
Best SP:

Quake 3 Arena
Unreal Tournament 2004

The first FPS I ever played!
Even though Doom and Wolfenstein are older I didn't play those until after Dark Forces. Thought it was pretty great for it's time, but I feel the Jedi Knight games afterwards did surpass it. I was scared to death to play the third level, the sewers with the Dianogas. XD
I'll pick 10 12, more or less in order, favorite on top. So I'd say;
GoldenEye 007 (N64)
Call of Duty (PC)
No One Lives Forever (PC)
Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (PC)
Star Trek Elite Force (PC)
Wolfenstein 3D (Mac)
Call of Duty 2 (PC)
Bioshock (PC)
Duke Nukem 3D (Mac)
Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II (PC)
Quake III Arena (PC)
Outlaws (Mac)

The thread seemed to be going fine and was actually a fun and interesting one. People were just naming off games they enjoy in the genre.
