Forums - Website Topics - I'm losing interest

I have to admit that I don't really care about the sales numbers anymore ( I think I gave up on that).

But the non-stop US elections and NX threads are just awful (religion and conspiracy theory threads too). Even other threads about other subjects or games/consoles end up about these subjects. "Yeah, but did you see that today Trump/Hillary..." or "Yeah but I'm sure the NX will..."/"Will this game be on the NX too?". No, just stop.

Is it too hard to have one thread about US elections and one thread about the NX and stop all this nonsense?

You're not alone.

I actually enjoyed this site more back when I was only a lurker.

This is not an attack against Nintedo but personally I'm just not interested in the far majority of Nintendo news. I'm interested in PS (eg. Gran Turismo), Xbox (eg. Halo Wars) and PC news (eg. Command & Conquer) and it's not Nintedo's fault that news surrounding these franchises or similar aren't numerous nowadays. I just hope that more PS and Xbox fans join the site in the future.

When I see that hot topics are filled with NX threads, Zelda threads, political threads, religious threads, etc. I leave before the whole site has even loaded.

Danne, I hope you never leave!

About the lack of interest, I think it has everything to do with sales numbers. Personally, I don't care about the numbers, but that's what draws a lot of fresh blood to this forum. With less frequent updates, the community is made up mostly of diehard contributors like us. So we keep having the same conversations and arguments with the same people.

I like to think of VGChartz as Animal Crossing. Every now and then new villagers arrive to spice things up, while some old villagers move to different towns. Right now, no one is moving in to VGChartz.

We really used to have quite a large PS fanbase around here, have they left? I see very little talk about the PSVR around here, sadly. This kinda should be prime time for the PS fanbase!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Yeah, I hope I stay for as long as this site is functional, but whether I'll contribute or not... well, that's an enitrely different thing ;)

You might have some inside insight about all this; but why isn't there any updates forthcoming? Have ioi truly left this site? It kinda feels like it.

I don't think anybody can be 24/7 spamming on a forum for years to come, someday you relax and take a hiatus. I have taken many, and already did mine this year between April to August (plus a few posts on BotW day). It happens, that's why I have a measly post average below two.

Irregular updates killed the routine of the website.
The major let down was how the database was handled, stripped away and mutilated.

My activity is gone down here as well. I blame work and Overwatch for that. I work a lot these days and when I get back home it seems all I want to do is play Overwatch.

On the community front, I feel like the fun as been slowly been fading away. I see less joke threads, parody threads or just users engaging in friendly banter... they may be still there but I guess I miss them in the sea of console bashing and NX rumors.

That's my feeling as well, sadly. There's simply less fun that goes around here, and I don't know why. Maybe because EVERYONE is slowly loosing interest? We seem to be quite a few now...

Is it really worse here than it was at other points in it's history in terms of users? Everything still seems pretty chill to me compared to other sites. The mods here do a great job too. I don't agree with everything they do, some bans have made me raise an eyebrow, but they are a great group overall imo. An important thing for a site like this to have, although I'm sure some of you disagree.

I agree that the mods are doing a great job around here! They deserve all the respect they can get =)
