So, the 2016 Presidential Election is coming to a close... but let's not end the fun just yet. I have an idea, we'll hold our own election. And crown... the first... PRESIDENT OF VGCHARTZ (Ironically we should be a monarchy as this is a UK site -but who cares?).

How to participate: 

Join an Alligence*:

-The Nintendo Party

-The Playstation Party

-The Xbox Party

-The PC Party

*You can also start an independent party as long as it is approved. Only 2 can exist each election though

+We will have 4 parties. 

+All are currently blank slates and MUST be represented by a mascot that best represents said party. For example The Nintendo Party could use Mario, Link, Red, or Samus as a mascot, if they so chose.

+They also need someone to own that party's thread. However, if you host the thread of a particular party, you may not be eligible to be a nominee as President of VGChartz. But you host the thread which grants you immunity to changing your avy if your party loses. You have to be active enough to own the thread. You can change the name of the party once you own it (E.g. someone renames The Nintendo Party the "Mario Party"). But you must have it be appropriate and ask what it can be called when you ask to own the party.

PM or wall post me if you want to own a thread of whichever of the 4 party's.

Select candidates for your party:

Each party will have 8 nominees which will be voted down to one. The remaining member will be the party's representative and possible President of VGC.

How will the voting be done? The host of the thread will pit them against each other 1 on 1 style. They'll say why they'd be the best candidate and be voted on elimination game style. 

Why would you want to become President of VGChartz?

If you become President you get:

-As President, choose all other losing party's avy's for 1 month. Of course, the avy's have to be appropriate... but I'm sure you guys can get creative

-Month of the VGChartz Supporter Program for free!

How will participation be counted?

If you join a party, you are participating and are accepting that you will change your avy if your party loses the election. So join at your own risk.

I am officially announcing my candidacy for VGChartz president with Pitfall Harry as my mascot.
I will be creating a new party, the Atari Party. All the other parties are run by c o r r u p t moderators, who rig every election.
Folks, we aren't winning anymore, you see the global charts, they're always 1 month behind. Trust me, we're gonna build a firewall to keep the Japanese games away. When Japan sends us their games they send the worst - horrible pornographic Chinese cartoon games that poison the minds of our newcomers.

Both, I believe. You vote for a mascot for your party (so having Samus represent the Nintendo party, for example) and then an individual user to be that party's nominee.

Can we vote for whoever runs the Sonic the Hedgehog twitter page?

No Ouya Party because afraid of strong competition.
