Forums - General Discussion - Hurricane Matthew killed 1000+ people in Haiti

https://www.rt.com/news/362130-haiti-cholera-mass-graves/

Awfully frightening to hear. It's to the point where officials had to create mass graves to bury all of the people killed by the hurricane.

Really sad to see Haiti go through such horrific events. No matter how much we help them, something always happens to the people that causes their lives to become worse.

America is fortunate to not have over a thousand people dead. Yes, many people have lost power, but at least they didn't lose their lives.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

and while this tragedy was happening Matt Drudge - author of the DrudgeReport was busy tweeting that
"The deplorables are starting to wonder if govt has been lying to them about Hurricane Matthew intensity to make exaggerated point on climate."

He tweeted other things like "Hurricane Center has monopoly on data. No way of verifying claims. Nassau ground observations DID NOT match statements! 165mph gusts? WHERE?"

and "Don't blame Mother Nature. Blame Mankind."

Only to then delete almost all of his tweets.  1000 of people died, and he was busy urging people that the hurricane was all a hoax.

While I agree this is just awful...let's not veer the thread towards politics or idiotic tweets. If you think this warrants a discussion, you can create a new thread on it...assuming we don't have a similar one.

OT: Terrible tragedy. My thoughts and prayers go towards those left behind.

I hope Hillary is happy with all the money she stole to enrich herself and her friends and family.

I had to post this... Notice how this image appeared only when it struck Haiti...

Mother Nature is sick...

Whats crazy is how it came so close here in Jamaica and turned around and made a bee line to Haiti.

My response to Bandorr was a general comment for the thread. I don't plan to tell people what to post, but please leave politics at the door for once. We have a good thousand other threads you can post this in.

I also hope so. But Haiti is one of the poorest country there. Without foreign help this country won't be able to recover.

Fair enough. I wasn't aiming for political just more outrage and shock that there is someone outthere that was actually trying to downplay this horrific force of nature.

My apologies.

I see no issue in your comment,  i also saw it as part of the discussion.

OT this is really sad news,  you often find these places aren't at all equipped for a hurricane.
