Forums - Sony Discussion - I'm Probably Gonna Buy a PS4 This Holiday; Which Model Do I Buy?

Which Model?

Slim 18 11.46%

Regular PS4 10 6.37%

Pro 121 77.07%

Don't get a PS4, get another XBone 8 5.10%

Total:157

So I think there's finally enough exclusive games on Ps4 that I'm interested in that warrents me buying the console. My biggest question right now is which model do I buy? Should I go for the cheap slim model, or maybe I should get the more powerful and expensive Pro which has 4k abilities I can't take advantages of yet (key word yet).

Which one do I get?

If you are at all interested in VR or have a 4K TV, I would suggest the Pro because there is no real reason not to buy it. If you just want to play PS exclusives or don't have a 4K TV, just get a Slim bundle with three games or something during the holidays.

I've actually asked this question several weeks ago. Most people on my thread were suggesting I get a PS4 Pro over the Slim. It's probably a good idea, but that depends on how much you're willing to spend on a PS4.

If you don't want to pay $400 for the Pro, I recommend getting the Slim as it includes a game (Uncharted 4). If you don't care about the price, I recommend going for Pro. Keep in mind that it doesn't include a game like the Slim.

If you can afford it then definitely the Pro, it's the more future-proof model.

Wait until the black friday sales and shop around for the best bundle that interests you. One of them will catch your eye.

Also, welcome to Greatness.

The pro is the better model to buy right now, even with a 1080p TV you'll still get games using super sampling which takes edges off like AA but without just blurring a 1080p image.

Also the price, it's just €100 more for a massive boost to over all system performance and like others said, it's future proofing in ways that if you should get PSVR or a 4k TV then you've got the model for the job... even though base PS4 games look beautiful @ 1080p anyway.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

If you budget is tight, buy the cheapest PS4 you find.

Otherwise definitely buy the Pro. You'll have advantages even at 1080p. And you will be future proof if you buy a 4K TV or PSVR later.

$100 difference for more than 2x the power? Seems like a no brainer to me.
If you really want to save, then buy a used vanilla ps4 from someone like me that is going to upgrade day 1

Ooooh you're going the Playstation master race!!

Pro's before Bros. The extra powa is worth the extra dolla!

Ofc PS4 Pro.
