Forums - General Discussion - Hurricane Matthew Is A Serious Storm

http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/06/us/hurricane-matthew-evacuations/index.html

This hurricane is no joke. 2 million evacuated, and this hurricane will destroy a lot of property in florida. I wonder what the total damages will be when this is said and done.

It's frightening though. Really hope everyone there stays safe. Seeing people who are staying because of their businesses/homes make me want to facepalm. We can get back our property eventually. Howeve, we can't get back our lives if they disappear.

Also, anyone from Florida who can talk about their own experiences? I'd like to hear about this from someone's own life.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

I came to comment on that "since forever" in the title, but as soon as I clicked on the thread it wasn't there anymore D:

I realized people would call me a dumbass for doing it, so I changed it.

That title is clickbait imo. We don't know how much of an impact the hurricane will have until after the fact, suggesting its going to be another Katrina (or worse*) beforehand is adding more fear to an already severe situation.

In Florida.

This is no Katrina. Average elevation of New Orleans is below sea level. Florida doesn't have any of that.

Good point.

I'm not exactly an expert on the current event, so I decided to link a constantly updating webpage from CNN instead. Even if it ends up being inferior to Katrina, it'll still be horrible

Time to build an Ark.

Hopefuly the evacuation was enough
Looks really bad

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

I'd agree, but the evidence shows that it will be devastating.

Will it be worse than Katrina? No. That is something I shouldn't have said.

I live in southeastern North Carolina along the Cape Fear River. I anticipate being without power for a couple of days. Not much else, though. As long as it's not like Floyd, I'm good.

I'm a little confused by your response since I don't think we are in disagreement here but nonetheless that title is better now .

Will Epcot make it?
