Took little me months to figure out and ever beat it. Amazing patience can have when have one game to play.

I had beaten Metroid just four years ago for the first time.

The first console game I played was Pac Man on the Atari 2600.

As far as owning, I got The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros at the same time with my NES.

Good point.  I first played PONG on a PONG console at a friends back in 1977.  But the first Atari game I played was Outlaw.

No clue, to be honest. I was born in 1981. We had a Gemini (Atari 2600 clone system) for as long as I can remember. And we always had games for it (Donkey Kong Jr., Mouse Trap, Wizard of Wor, etc.), so I have no idea. Some years later, we got an NES, and the first batch of games with that was Mario/DuckHunt, Ninja Gaiden 2, Final Fantasy, and Tetris.

SMB...but at the time I was already playing on ZX and C64, so I didn't like it much, especially since I liked original DK in arcades.

First game I ever owned was the first Crash Bandicoot on PS1. I wanted the N64 but my mom kept saying no because she heard about Goldeneye 007 and how violent it was. So convinced her to get me the PS1, which later got Twisted Metal ;)

Super Mario Bros with Duck Hunt bundled with NES

If not bundled game then Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Rainbow Island and Shadow of the Beast on the Commodore Amiga.

Like most people here I got SMB/DH bundled with my NES.

First game we actually bought outside of the bundled game was Mega Man 2. I remember standing in the store with my father on one side and my best friend on my other side having Batman and Mega Man 2 in my hand trying to chose, my friend insisted I should get Batman because our friend had mega Man 2. But I still picked Mega Man 2 which I am very happy with, I played it so much and it's still one of the best games of all time. Not that Batman is a bad game, it's really good, it cant really keep up with the awesomeness that is Mega Man 2
