Took little me months to figure out and ever beat it. Amazing patience can have when have one game to play.

I had beaten Metroid just four years ago for the first time.

The first console game I played was Pac Man on the Atari 2600.

As far as owning, I got The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros at the same time with my NES.

Good point.  I first played PONG on a PONG console at a friends back in 1977.  But the first Atari game I played was Outlaw.

No clue, to be honest. I was born in 1981. We had a Gemini (Atari 2600 clone system) for as long as I can remember. And we always had games for it (Donkey Kong Jr., Mouse Trap, Wizard of Wor, etc.), so I have no idea. Some years later, we got an NES, and the first batch of games with that was Mario/DuckHunt, Ninja Gaiden 2, Final Fantasy, and Tetris.

SMB...but at the time I was already playing on ZX and C64, so I didn't like it much, especially since I liked original DK in arcades.

I don't remember what the first console game I played was. When I started playing console games about 31-32 years ago, my father had an Intellivision (which he later gave to me) and a good selection of games for it (probably because the Crash of '83 made them cheap as hell).

The first console games I got as a regular gift (and not a hand-me-down) were Super Mario Bros. + Duck Hunt, Mega Man, and Jaws, which I got alongside my NES as a Christmas gift in 1988. Best Christmas ever.

The first console game I bought with my own money was probably Final Fantasy VII. My first big purchase after getting my first job in the summer of 1998 was a PS1, and the only reason I got it in the first place was because of FFVII. I got an N64 not too longer after that, and it was my main system that generation. If I bought any games before I got a PS1, it would have likely been an SNES game, which were still available in stores in 1998.

First game I ever owned was the first Crash Bandicoot on PS1. I wanted the N64 but my mom kept saying no because she heard about Goldeneye 007 and how violent it was. So convinced her to get me the PS1, which later got Twisted Metal ;)
