Like the title says I haven't played any Gears games, but I'm extremely interested in Gears 4. It's a quasi Xbone exclusive and Horde mode looks amazeballs. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems Gears 4 is the beginning of a new saga/story, so would jumping right into the 5th installment ruin the series for me?

Sure. Although you can buy the backwards compatibility gears games for a cheap price.
Sure, if you like shootie and cover games. One of my friends favorite game series is Gears of War. He just loves, loves that game.
It's also a fun game to play with friends. Have at it!

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned. Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon! |

Yes. Because Gears 1,2,3, and judgement are all given to you through Xbox 360 BC. You get the entire series if you buy Gears 4.
Gears is a great game but it has a secret. I becomes "one of the best games" when you coach co-up it with a friend, I recently replayed Gears 1-2-3 and Judgement with my best friend, best time I've had since I played mario kart with him, these games are just amazing together.
Doesn't take away when you play them alone they are also a ton of fun, and the series has been getting better, 3 was already just tremendous in the way they designed the stages and even the story was a lot of fun.
I'm guessing Gears 4 is raising the bar, definitely pick it up.

This, for $60 its a great deal.
If you like 3rd person shooters, Gears is some of the best around.
