Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What happens in the Pokemon games when you catch all possible Pokemon?

I've always been a fan of the series (have owned nearly every version) but I've never been patient enough to catch every single critter. My record is with original Red version, 137 out of 150 (yes, I am leet). I've always wondered just what exactly happens when you catch all of them? Does your character get a little party, do you just get a message, or does it not even tell you when its' happened? Thanks.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

After you got all of them and got them to lvl 99 then you win.

I think you get a certificate of some sort...

Ummm I had blue version used a gameshark caught every pokemon including mew and mewtwo had a couple of each :) Infinite rarecandy and masterball too. Nothing really happens .....

I remember in Pokemon Yellow if you got 150 there was someone who'd give you a certificate which if you had the Gameboy printer, you could print it up. Bout all I remember.

I got a certificate in red (thanks to pokemon red, pokemon stadium and the transfer pack) and all I remember was it saying congratulations, you caught all 150 or something like that. Never got all the pokemon in any other games (seems impossible now with close to 500).

Edit: Forgot to add, you have to go an get it from a guy.

With Wi-Fi and GTS is more easy than before, Pokemon pearl is the first pokemon game where I caught all the pokemon(493) OT: You got a certificate and one star in your TC.

If you go to proffessor oak he says congratulations.

That is slightly disapointing, though I don't know what I was really expecting

In red and blue, probably yellow too, i remember you get a certificate from professor oak, and you have th option to print it using the good old GB Printer. In the newer pokemons its impossible, theres like what? 650 pokemon now?(just a guess)
