Giving gifts to girls that do not like them.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

I just wanted to make this thread to discuss things people still do but another method would have the same results.

Raking leaves... Who the fuck still rakes leaves?  Why not use a lawn mower?  Seems like a lawn mower would be a way easier method of removing leaves from your yard.

Oh God, you're tickling my ptsd.

My grandma has an old farmhouse with a big garden and she is OBSESSED with raking leaves. And not just on the lawn. Nooooooo. No, no, no, no, no, noooooooo.

Leaves have to be raked everywhere daily, from the pebble covered drive, over the vegetable patches and flower beds (wich the whole property is covered in), the large chicken and goose enclosures to the freaking patch of forest she has on her property. Yes, you read that right, she rakes leaves in her forest.

She even has a little festival once a year that revolves all around raking leaves. Usually towards the end of october she will invite friends, family and neighbours hand everyone a rake and a barrow let them comb through the garden and property to collect as many leaves as they can. Then we build a massive pile of leaves and burn it all. I like that last part because it's very helloweeny, but come on!

Sorry for bringing up a traumatic experience for you...  Yea that does seem a little obsessive if you are raking in a forest.  lol what the fuck is the point of raking a forest?  Perhaps she was making sure there wasn't any dead material that could help a fire grow?  That is my only solution.

Breathing air

Why breathe air when you could just reload your lung batteries with electricity

You mean lawn mower withbag.

Drinking bottled water.

Why bother with a bag? Leaving the grass and mulched leaves on the lawn is much healthier for the lawn. Dunno why people still bother dumping grass out and sticking leaves in bags along the road. Weeds the same, drop them on the grass, run them over, nutrients back in the soil.

I do still bother to get filtered water in those 5 gallon jugs every 2 weeks. I prefer my coffee and tea not to taste like chlorine, nor have high potassium from the home water filter and break after half a year from the calcium buildup.

Leaf blowers seems the most pointless invention though.

Another pointless thing to me, wash the car. Why bother, it will rain eventually.

Well, until they install water fountains on every street corner...

Sure, but people in America drink it like they are in a third world country. Besides Flint, Michigan most of America has perfectly clean drinking water.

"Clean" and "tastes good" are two entirely different things.

If it is so clean, why does it taste bad? If you go from bottled water to tap water, you can definately tell the difference.

Defend capitalism, it's a cycle of failure anyway.
Socialism is the only way forward :)

I buy a bottle of water, drink the water. Then fill the water with tap water until I can't use the bottle anymore.

Repeat.

Sometimes you have to rake the leaves. One place I lived, a lot of leaves fell in comparatively not a lot of yard during fall and winter. That sucked enough to run a lawnmower over even without leaves thanks to the uneven ground.
