Considering the original headline was that Hillary called Sanders supporters "basement dwellers" it's clear why she wouldn't say this to the public.  Just look at the ridiculous reactions in this thread.

This was, except from the basement part, not very offensive.

Why are people taking this as an attack?

It's kind of a statement as to why Bernie Sanders supporters are upset about the economy.

From what I've read so far from Sanders supporters on Internet, she's right about almost everything.

The "living in their parents' basement" is a bit mean, but the rest of the comment is accurate and really far from being a critic. She's even more aware of these issues that I thought she was.
