Undertale - PC
a comical RPG game where every single choice you make matters, there are multiple endings, and the characters and story are all fun and refreshing. aside from that though, everything else was done wrong. the game wasnt even in an HD format, had limited controls, and nearly have the scenes were in monochrome. let it be a reminder that huge budgets are not necessary to make a great game.
SSB4 / MK8 - Wii U
putting these as one because i feel exactly the same about both of them. both of them are the absolute best of their series and can be enjoyed no matter how many times you play them. not to mention both are complete games even without the DLC. its just endless fun for you and your friends.
Pokemon X&Y - 3DS
these games feel like a complete reboot for the series. no more sprites, everything is in 3D. all gameplay elements are refined and perfected. while there werent that many new pokemon and the story was a bit flat, i havent put so many hours into a pokemon game since D&P.
Stardew Valley - PC
for the past few Harvest Moon games, the creators have lost their touch. the games now resemble Minecraft knock-offs with ugly 3D visuals. but then Stardew Valley came in and stole the show. everything people loved about the original games, and everything people loved about the midseries games combined into one, without the dread of the new games. and it hasnt even reached an official release yet, the game is still in beta.
