Forums - Sony Discussion - Crowd is completely blown away by the 4K HDR graphics of the PS4 Pro

The Last of Us remastered will supposedly be upgraded to a native 4K through the PS4 Pro. That will be very indicative of what level 4K native games the PS4 Pro will get. The Scorpio will get more native 4K games but I sincerely doubt we will be seeing Witcher III level graphics in 4K.

If so, I am happy you guys are getting one of the best games Sony has released so far. It really deserves the upgrade (there's Until Dawn, but I am not getting my hopes up)...

I think native 4K will be limited to exclusives and the ocassional marketing deal. Most devs know the vast majority of people use 32 inch displays...

There won't be many native 4K games on either console that are on Uncharted 4/Gears 4 calibre. Gears 4 on PC using a Skylake 6600 and a 9 TF Nvidia GTX 1080 at 4K and the frame rate was around 30-45 frames with minimal dynamic scaling.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_D9iX9U40E

At about the 14.40 minute mark.

I know consoles and PCs are not really 1:1 but we are seeing a VERY expensive GPU(more than the rumored price for the entire Scorpio) at 9TF just handling the game at 4K at 30 frames. Not sure if the settings were all set to 'ultra' though.

Next gen should be all about native 4K.....

What were the settings like? I seem to recall settings might help games perform at 30fps 4K... I can't see F4 pulling it off but I can see Until Dawn and Sea of Thieves pulling it off if they don't use over the top settings. I doubt we'll be limited to Guacamelee and Ori though...

Hi everyone . This is sony discussion. Are you OK ?

At the 20 minute mark they show the settings menu for Gears and it looks like it was mostly set to ultra but I dont know if the game they shot was running on those settings. I'd assume it was at mostly ultra settings.

Then we know which settings new games will use...

Wait until you see native 4K at this price.

And watch their precious heads explode...

Nah.  I'll be enjoying three dozen 100+ hour JRPGs and epic adventure and platformer games while you'll get Halo 6, Gears 5, Forza 7, Halo 4 remaster, Gears 4 remaster, Forza 6 remaster, Halo 6 ultimate addition, Gears 5 ultimate edition, Forza 7 ultimate edition, Halo 4 remastered ulticate edition...etc

One trick pony is always a one trick pony.

Ps4 being superior was fun to rub in but really the reason I'm all in PS+ Nintendo is 7th gen made me so goddamn tired of bro shooters and online epeen arena prioritized games shoved down our throats mostly by Microsoft trying to turn consoles into PCs.  One of the worst things Microsoft ever did to the world by entering the console market.  EA and Activision are to blame of course but MS was an enabler that shifted the gaming audience to the older "mature" "cool bro" demographic that fucked up 7th gen by spearheading PC like FPS on consoles with Halo soon followed by Call of Duty and the rest of the PC shovelware consoles now suffer from.

I want other genres back like we had in the golden age of SNES to PS1. I want consoles back period. This sorta like a PC but inferior while marginalizing all the types of games that made consoles different from PCs and infecting consoles with the stale oversaturated FPS curse that PCs already went through is crap. And Microsoft started all this shit with Xbox and Halo.

There's no way you can possibly spin PS+ as a negative. Just look at the games provided in the past year. Surely there's more than $50 worth of games in there. Just Yakuza 5 should be enough to redeem what you pay.

The fact it's a pay wall and you don't keep the games when your subscription runs out can be regarded as a negative.

With that said, the Xbox isn't much better as that also has a paywall and you don't get to keep your Xbox One games, only Xbox 360.

That said, it's not an issue for most, but it can be seen as a negative for both platforms.

Why would anyone stop paying for PS+? That's like complaining that you can't watch th movies on Netflix after you're not subscribed anymore.

makes me kinda glad that my 4K tv and PS4 Pro is arriving near the same time lol
