Forums - Gaming Discussion - Spencer suggests Scorpio will cost not more than $600 USD

Not really even a suggestion.
"nor will a higher price than another “which has already heard in the video game industry before.”

I'm not even sure that sentence makes sense grammatically, little alone suggesting that it won't be more than $600.

Why play coy? If you know it is going to be less than $600 - say it.

His actual quote was.

"“So I think you will feel like it’s a premium product, a premium console. And not something, anything more than that. So I wouldn’t get people worried that this thing is going to be unlike any console price you’ve ever seen. We didn’t design it that way. That said, the opening price point for the Xbox One S, and the different hard drive sizes that is a critical part of this whole product. When I think about it as a product line, you should expect the pricing to kind of be in line with that.”

Yup definitely gonna have to cough up a lot of money for the Scorpio.

"Say what you want about Americans but we understand Capitalism. You buy yourself a product and you Get What You Pay For."

- Max Payne 3

If the price is $500-$600 then I expect it to sell as good as the PS3 did with its slow start, then gaining momentum as the years continue. Until the PS5 arrives

CPU: Ryzen 7950X
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5

If they price it any more than 449, they goofed imo

If it is premium, then that it is ok. Premium means it is not for everyone, but for those that can afford the very best. I am ok with that, even if that means I can not afford. I drive a Hyundai, not a Ferrari. I think it is ok that there are Ferraris in the gaming world, there are Ferraris in pretty much every market: foods, travels, healthcare even...
There is always a premium choice for those that can pay for it, it is natural that gaming is like this.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Wal-Mart pricing.

$599.XX (It literally could be anything)

Amazon pricing.

I'm hoping there is still a 500GB model. Then I can just swap externals and my upgrade will be complete.

i'd be absolutely floored if the scorpio cost $599.

$399 to $499 depending on how much of an upgrade the components ms hasn't discussed yet get (RAM and cpu).

I would guess that if they wanted to get marketshare and mindshare they would his $399US.

MS can talk "premium" all they want, but they are at a swing point in keeping the Xbox brand even relevant long term. By next year the XB1s had better be $50-100 cheaper or sales will slow dramatically with how cheap the PS4pro is. So, the Scorpio will need to be $399-$449 for the base model to even matter. Phil clearly made reference to the multiple sku model on the Scorpio(1tb,2 tb, deluxe edition).

Come October 1, 2017:
1. I see the XB1s 500gb base model (no pack in game) for $199.
2. I see the Scorpio 1 tb Base Model to be $399.

I think there is a chance that the Scorpio launches even earlier than October if MS can make it happen. But that is another topic...

It is near the end of the end....
