Thanks for the question because you made me go look for the source and i realised i was wrong: the quote was not from EA, but from a unnamed developer that MCV spoke to: "It’s a nice bit of kit, a bit of a novelty, but a good one,” said one exec that has got hands on with the machine. “It won’t appeal to PS4 fans. Nintendo seems set on trying to upgrade smartphone gamers. That’s going to be a big job for the marketing department.”
Sorry about the mistake!

No worries. Thanks for finding it. Still a disheartening quote for those of us that are hoping for a machine on par with at least a vanilla PS4 so that there is a little hope for demanding multiplats... who knows perhaps I'm reading too much into the quote

I don't think the "it won't appeal to PS4 fans" is a power thing. From what i have read up until now, Nintendo doesn't want to just appeal to home console games... kinda like the Wii (it was all about how you play) with the difference that this won't be that underpowered! Rumour has it that it's similar to XB1 even if not on paper.
I personally don't think NX versions won't or will exist because of power but mainly because of strategy.
From "upgrading mobile gamers" to "a reboot for Nintendo", NX will be a different machine - and in my opinion a very competent one at that!
