Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Slim release sees UK Xbox One hardware sales rocket 1,000%

XBO may be 989% up in weekly sales, but is only 76% up YOY that week... this really mean that the lasts weeks was selling nothing, and will most likely back down YOY soon.

Also PS4 down YOY by 66%... that's super bomba.

Most retailers were offering Fifa for free with the ps4 this week, so maybe people were waiting, but still, yeah, sales were awfully low. Those insane deals for the OG PS4 this week will probably have a great effect this week, unless stock is very low, as every retailer has already sold out (online, at least).

But only 71% of the console share?
What's the normal sales in UK for consoles? Something like 30k total consoles per week?
So, something like 8k becomes 85k?

Let's chalk it up as cheap 4K Blu-ray players. I bought my PS3 mainly as a Blu-ray player. This should go towards 4K Blu-ray player sales. 😒

lol then how many dozens of millions of sales should we slash off of the PS2's final count? :p

PS2 sales can go towards DVD players. That was my DVD player. OG Xbox lost that battle, when they required a media package to play DVDs. Sega CD was my CD player. Xbone phat is my TV box.

So hardware sales counts are totally messed up for a long time now. Only Nintendo had true hardware sales. 🙄

Probably more along the lines of 3k becomes 30k or 4k becomes 40 or so. Judging from the rest of the information provided (i.e. ps4 is down 66% yoy, and nearly outsold the xbox 3 to 1 the week prior when it was down even 22% from that), sales have been extremely low of late.

So no real numbers...?

Well done! But we shall see if it can hold on to its sales over the coming months.

Wasn't this week the Fifa week last year as well. Regardless of the week on week increase, 76% increase of last year must be really good.

I just hope everybody is picking up Horizon 3 white these consoles.

The S model was the one I was waiting for. And its exactly what I was hoping for. Probably the best console MS has ever made. It gives me hope for what Scorpio will be able to do.

Same for me, however since MS announced the Scorpio already I rather see what that has to offer first before making a choice. It is a big step up from the original xbox one, unlike the ps4 slim which is nothing more than a replacement. With the ps4 pro so close I can see why ps4 slim demand is low.

The XBox One S is actually more expensive than ps4 slim in Canada (399 / 274 gbp incl tax vs 379 / 260 gbp incl tax). I see it's the same price in the UK with a game packed in as well on the XBox side. Oddly, ps4 pro will be slightly less here (499 / 343 gbp incl tax)

No clue what the Canadian sales are.

I haven't checked, but I think it being down YoY by that much must mean it was FIFA launch last year.
