Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4Pro Has A GPU Feature That Improves PSVR

So my conversation was so interesting it kept you from playing fallout 4 on your Vive.  That's quite the compliment!

The mass market may not embrace the mass market but what you know for sure is they haven't embraced vr on pc.  It's not succeeded with the mainstream yet.  I have more hope for psvr and if NX does it then the NX vr too.

Except PSvr isnt Mass market, its not even in the mass market price its in the niche market price. And yes VR has not yet exploded on PC yet since its still such a new market with some pretty expensive devices for now. But much more cheaper VR devices are coming to PC along with phones getting better/being made for VR in mind and they in return can also work on PC. And even with VR on PC being so expensive for the time being its still sold more units then PSVR has so far .

I think you guys are going to be pretty shocked if you expect a 400 euro VR device on console to do big numbers.

You just said you were done replying and were off to play F4 on your Vive?

I expect psvr to sell a million in the first year.  Basically a lot more successful than Vive and oculos.

The problem here is the mainstream want games like the psvr will get and at that low a price.  I'm part of that mainstream.  That's the ultimate product for me.  Lots of AA,  AAA and some indie content.  A reasonable price point and a nice product.  No high risk cost entry either.  Well it's high risk just not super high which is what I'd need to spend and many others to buy the Vive and build a gaming pc. My powerful pc is for work only now.

We dont know what the mainstream wants. They might all turn their heads and laugh at the idea of paying 400 for a device to stick on their heads. They might be very happy with their google cardboards. This isnt about the mainstream it was about me and you and my reply to you was based around that.

Your new reply is doing nothing more then changing goal posts and trying to switch your post once again.

Anyway i had enough of this boring convo thats going no where, Im off to play fallout 4 in VR on "My" ultimate machine right now using my cheap VR goggles till i get my hands on PSVR to use on my pc and make that baby really sing.

You said you were going to play on the ultimate machine... and during the whole convo you were sure to point out Vive was the ultimate machine, where would we get that impression right?

So sucessful (and handfull, well couldn't even fill one hand) that they got hiatus of over 10 years. You have been discrediting everyone in this thread so far, so for you to have the nerve to act holy and high is great to see.

You said you have the ultimate VR, and before you said Vive is the ultimate VR... so where did Conina took that idea from?

I think you guys should look back over my post its clear your seeing things.

Yep checked and not seeing things.

Point out where i said that.

And as to what it will sell in its first year i guess we will see. But remember this the was a lot more 3D tv's then 1 million sold in its first year yet Sony still dropped 3D support.

I just pointed out. And since you think putting 1k in desktop HW plus 800 on Vive, why wouldn't vive be your cheap VR headset?

And Sony still manufacture 3D TVs (mine is 4K 3D tv), console still support it, but they probably stopped launching 3D content on their AAA games because the resources drain versus the people asking for it didn't made any sense.

Kinect sold 20M+ on Xbox360 and still was forgotten on X1 even with like 10M sold.

Yes my PC is "My Ultimate" Machine, however in the same sentance i also said "using my cheap" vr goggles till i get my PSVR set. So why would i call Vive "My cheap" vr headset and then go on to say how im going to be getting PSVR An even cheaper VR headset to use on my pc.. Clearly its seeing things since its something i didnt say.

Yes lots of companys still make 3D tvs since the is still 3D movies coming out and i can still play pretty much all games in 3D using my PC.

However like i said if i only owned a PS3 and then a PS4 and wanted to play Sonys first party games in 3D after their hype id be very upset since its all but dead to them now, just as id imagine PSVR will be if it doesnt take off. Ill buy one anyways since i know even if sony does end support ill still get plenty of use out of it on my pc just like i did with my 3D tv and just like i am now with my "Cheap" vr headset.

Well, you were saying for the whole thread how good and cheap would be for someone to play on Vive, but you don't have one, and is using an even cheaper option than PSVR... how disapointing right?

Well yours PS3 games won't play on PS4. You could very well be upset, like were people about Linux. It would only show that you were a very minor parcel of their userbase. When you buy a product you are in a kind of investment that may or may not pay-off even more when it's a new technology, so no point in being disapointed that the rest of the market didn't bothered with it the same as you. I have Move (with two sets) and the camera for PS4 and almost no game to play, disapointing, but I can't blame a company for not wanting to push content that will make they bleed money.

I never said i was going to wait that was in reply to how it would take 10 years. I am going to get a PS4Pro and the PSVr once it comes down in price is most likely going to be the headset i get since it will work both on my PS4 and my pc.

Ahh, understood. So that means psvr is the ultimate vr headset for you too :)

Anyway, after reading the rest of the thread, since you're already fine with patched in VR in games not designed for VR, played with some lag on Galaxy S5 VR goggles, VR is going to be great!

Now point out where it says "vive" in that quote.

I'm replying quickly in between rounds of rainbow 6. Little details like that don't matter when the point is you said you were done and off to play your VR.  Point is you aren't done and are still here!

I never once said playing on Vive was cheap but if you dont mind quoting where i said that?.

To bolded. At least Move only costed you what like 30-60? PSVR is like 400, i imagine a lot more will be disapointed if that gets no support. But yes PSMove support on PS4 has been pretty bad. Atleast now VR will give it a reason to be used again unless that does worse then Move xD.

You can call me silly and all the other names you have been throwing in this thread, but I'm quite sure you were saying investing 1k in HW and another 800 USD on Vive wasn't a problem, and that PSVR for 400 wasn't much cheaper so wouldn't help sale a lot...

But maybe someone else logged in your account since you have been backtracking for a while.

What do you mean i never called you or anyone any names in this thread. But if your going to be trowing around such accusations do you mind bring quotes with you?.

Id like you to quote where i said Vive was cheap, id also like you to quote where i called you any names please thank you.

Id also like for you to point out where i back tracked on anything if yo dont mind.

Sorry, but I won't go back 200 comments just to show you how much have you dished in here. If you just look at the last 10 comments you'll see 3 people that severely disagree with your notion that you haven't been saying what you know claim to never said.

So back on topic,
Yeah this is excellent news that the Pro will come with this feature. I'd be satisfied with psvr on a regular ps4 but as a Pro owner it will be great to get improved performance. It's going to be great.

While this was never a confirmed feature at its announcement I thought everyone knew the PS4 Pro would handle VR better.

Wouldnt be surprised if VR runs like crap on normal PS4s.
