Forums - Sony Discussion - Bethesda Hasn’t Given Up Yet On Getting Mod Support For PS4

Sad to see some still defending Sony on this. Trading my PS4 copy of Fallout in for an Xbone one and won't bother with Bethesda games on Playstation anymore.

You're telling me, honestly, that you've never heard of  Sonic Boom: Rise Of Lyric or the Master Chief Collection?  You expect me to believe that?  Bullshit.

I don't recall that much hype around these two games. NMS had plenty of hype thanks in part to the immense platform Sony provided NMS.

That aside, it looks like you have some kind of vendetta about NMS.  That's fine but I really, really don't care.  Do that elsewhere.  This isn't a NMS thread.

Nothing really against NMS. It's just a counterexample to the argument that Sony rejected mods on Bethesda games because of quality issues. NMS had issues with crashing and yet Sony had no problem with it being released on the PS4 platform for $60.

Otherwise, your argument that a company can't think about quality because they had a buggy game on their system previously is straight up ridiculous.  In that case, none of them can ever take any quality control measures ever again because THEY ALL HAVE HAD BUGGY GAMES.  I mean, seriously, go search google for "pokemon gliches".  It should take you awhile.

It's inevitable that software will have bugs. My confusion arises when people suggest Sony rejected Bethesda mods because of quality issues and yet had no problem allowing NMS releasing for $60. Maybe the chance to move PS4 consoles made Sony see dollar signs?

Quite honestly, it seems like you just want to complain about NMS so you're trying to link that to this even though the two things are very different.  If you're going to make an argument that people can respect then do it about the issue itself.

When I brought up NMS, I didn't do it to criticize NMS. I did it to criticize the position that Sony rejected Bethesda mods because of quality issues.

Apparently the mods on the X1 have a lot of issues. I can see why Sony doesn't want it on the PS4.

Plenty YouTube videos showing off mods that seem to work fine on console.

Someone should notify Sony that the gaming community has ways of assessing mod quality for consoles: It's called the internet. Sony may have heard of it.

If you're trying to tell me that the MCC and Nintendo's deal for an exclusive Sonic had no hype then you've just lost all credibility.  That's a first-party release of one of the biggest franchises of all time and a game with an iconic character from a major publisher and yet you only have a problem with a single indie game that has bugs?  Right.  That really puts things in perspective.

And why do you keep putting up mod overview videos?  Do you know nothing about mods?  You have to go to where it's hosted and read the comments and conflicts.  On PC, independent hosts provide a place for bug reports but I'm not sure if they provide that on Bethesda.net.

Finally, if your position is that people should research something before they download it, why do you keep going on about NMS?  That's exactly what I did.  And if you're that bothered about NMS then why aren't you protesting Fallout 4 itself, which almost certainly has more bugs?

Rather than someone with an argument, you seem more like someone with an agenda who is trying to construct an argument out of nothing.  There are plenty of solid arguments as to why Sony should allow mods but "well, they had a different game on their system and it had bugs so they can't care about quality anymore" is not one of them.

The Bethesda forums has over 1,500 threads when you search crash.

What I can tell you from personal experience is that I've never had a crash happen from mods.

To be fair, this is Bethesda. So 1,483 of those threads could just be normal people playing the vanilla game.

To be fairer, crashes happen with mods. You're clearly ignorant to the mod scene with this point you're trying to make.

If Microsoft can allow them, Sony should also allow it.

Good for Bethesda, but I'm sure Sony won't budge, at least, for the time being.

Nobody cares Sony! God Howard > You!

Lol@ Sony fans still defending Sony on this. I guess the XB1 having Proper Mod support for all Future Bethesda games and PS4 possibly missing out is a hard pill to swallow for many.
Can you imagine how good Fallout 4, Skyrim etc will look on XB1Scorpio thanks to mods. They will be like whole new games.
Sony really needs to help Bethesda out here and give them the tools they need to allow fans to convert over the Textures and Sounds to the PS4 format, mostly since Bethesda is still trying so hard to get mod support to their PS4 fans.

Maybe Sony fans don't want broken stuff.

What's stopping from this happening on the PC version? That's what happened with the Hot Coffe Mod, in SA. Double standard doesn't work.

What's stopping what from happening on the PC version?  I don't understand your question.

Why would nude skins caause outrage on consoles. And not on the PC version? They're already avaible now.

Haha yeah. NMS says hi .

Anyway im sure XB1/PC players will enjoy their broken mods .

I'm sure they are... based on the number of people complaining about their game crashing. But then again debugging games is part of the charm of pc gaming apparently.

As for NMS, 800k owners on Steam... yeah...
