Then dev's will have to stop under delivering on their promises. This is better for us as consumers not buying lies and getting ripped off

Has peter molyneux ever been sued? He is the biggest offender of this type of behaviour.

Im not sure, I dont want dev's to get sued but if peter molyneux had been sued this type of marketing probably would'nt be around today. I think Hello Games being investigated is a good thing to happen for the future of the industry, hoping that measures are put in place to stop these tactic's so we can buy the game thats advertised.

Apparently Gamestop is already selling the PS4 version of this game down around $15 lol

If it edges close to $10 I'll have to go pick it up.

Seriosuly? THIS is where they draw the line in the sand? Where were these guys when Randy Pitchford and Gearbox were shoveling bull crap about Aliens Colonial Marines?

Where was this with games that falsely advertise with blatantly unrepresentative graphics?

Or shoot, where have these guardians of the consumers been for the years of prerendered hype-mongering CG that is COMPLETELY unrepresentative of what the game is like (hello The Division).

This is good in principle, but the fact it has taken this long is bloody pathetic.  Colonial Marines STILL has unrepresentative, LYING screenshots on its Steam store page for goodness sake.

Yeah, there's a lot of examples of false advertising. I suspect No Man's Sky is simply a victim of its own success atm, as it became universally infamous for how short they fell of what was advertised. This game initially sold like hot cakes.

Perhaps the rise and popularity of Youtube has made a difference as well... there's many millions of views of videos comparing and contrasting the pre-release and launch-day claims with the post-release results.

I didn't play the game, but if we start to sue all under delievering games, a lot of studios will need to shut down...

Or they can just stop promising things that wont be in the game? They can make sure to word it correctly as well. Instead of saying "This will be in the game" they can say "We are working on getting XXX in the game". Then people will at least know that this might not be in the game and can hold off on buying it until it's confirmed after release.

Man people got super pissy about this game so fast XD damn I wish people cared this much about the appstores false advertising. It makes this whole thing look tame in comparison

The planet portals alone is false advertisement. HG didn't even want to confirm or deny that they worked, when people asked. And it's still in the preview videos.

Those apps just need to hire Sean Murray to be their PR person.

Good. Tired of seeing the types of devs get away with it. hope the suit goes far.

Agreed. Randy Pitchford and his crew of vagabonds are always a noteworthy mention in stories like this. NMS still deserves all the heat it's getting as well.

I was happy to see this. Playstation custom support went full ice cold on me and even when a team leader finally rang back, she said basically said since their store front didn't give incorrect info it's not false advertisement and their T&Cs are within UK law regardless of Consumer Rights. I was told to take it to Consumer Ombudsman or to court.

When I complained about their staff lying, being aggressive, contradicting each other, giving false information and cutting me off, the team leader brushed it off by saying all I'll get is her to look into it.

I'm a bit disappointed Sony is not mentioned and only steam is. Wonder where this puts people who bought it on PSN if Hello Games is found guilty.
