Specifically in the North American market I certainly wouldn't rule out the Scorpio winning back a lot of players who migrated to the PS4.

At this point the disparity between Sony's sales and its competition is likely reaching a peak with a decline soon to follow. I imagine it'll continue to comfortably lead the others for some time, though, with no real end in sight there.

The one question mark for me is how well Sony's VR is accepted, as it could potentially be a big selling point. I know I personally plan to switch to the Scorpio given the (presumed) superior hardware unless the VR looks too cool to pass up, so I wonder how many others are thinking similarly.

It didnt specify, but I assumed worldwide because it didn't mention any country.

Sony wins. Although a Scorpio powered halo 6 will be glorious. Can't wait for that!

What does the winner get as a award for coming first apart from raising there sub fees?

Easily.

I bought new Windows 10 PC recently . And I say yes.

Sony will probably win as the gap is too big and Sales outside of US are growing where Xbox is still weak.

However, if people see Scorpio as a next gen console considering it's almost 5 times more powerful than the original Xbox and it will have exclusive games and accessories due to VR, then Sony has already won the current gen and Xbox will lead the next gen without a competitor.

Sony have won this generation already.

More money from hardware and software sales. A future in the console business.

Money can come from all sorts of avenues. Online fees, software sales, accessories etc. Hardware doesn't necessarily lead to profits. Hardware sales can mean little if it cannot sell its products/fees.

Console future depends on more than just hardware sales. Nintendo Gamecube, WiiU and Orginial Xbox are proof of that.

But all of those revenue sources are proportional to the amount of consoles you sell.

With 40 million consoles sold you will sell roughly rufly double the online fees, softwares and accessories than the guy who only sold 20 million consoles.

Easily.
