Forums - Gaming Discussion - Should a hypothetical Team Fortress 3 add more characters?

More characters for TF3?

Yes. 10 71.43%

Add in TF2. 1 7.14%

NOPE. 3 21.43%

Total:14

When compared to other team shooters, TF2 has a small number of characters. Overwatch has 22, Battleborn has 25, and Paladins has 17.

Should TF3 have more characters? Or do you think aditional characters are possible in TF2? Or maybe you think there shouldn't be more characters?

What do you think? I think there should be more characters, for more variety.

Well Team Fortress always only had 9 classes back with the original mod, and honestly, considering they haven't added any new characters in TF2 all these years, I doubt it would happen.

I dunno, I'm not Valve, but TF3 will probably never happen, since all they need these days are Dota 2 and CS:GO.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

How about adding more abilities? You think it can happen? I mean, Ubercharge is basically an ult.

Valve doesn't know how to make a game with 3 at the end of it.

Why do you think I said hypothetical? Anyway, this thread is asking if Valve should add characters, not if it would.

That's really interesting to know, my first encounter with TF2 was from the orange box on xb360, the greatest collection of all time!

Within the context of this thread, if a TF3 did come out, I think it would be natural for them to add ~3 more play styles to keep the gameplay fresh.

Don't worry, Valve can't count to 3

But in the case there is one for some random reason, I think they shouldn't since the classes are pretty well balanced

What do you think they should add?

Sorry I couldn't resist.  I believe they should add some perhaps but should make sure everything is balanced.  Problem with adding too many is that things tend to get unbalanced with the more characters there are in a game.

I think a good idea would be seperating some classes. For example, Huntman Sniper and Demoknight would be their own classes.
