EDIT: Okay, okay, let me rephrase this: 2016 is the worst year for the industry in my opinion. If you have played games this year you enjoy, good for you, but every year has good and bad games. I am just pointing out shady business practices, questionable releases, and hype culture. I myself am excited for Final Fantasy XV, and the year has had a few good releases. I am not saying "Everee gaym suks this yeer!!" I am saying it has been a bumpy ride.

I'll list some reasons.

1. Microtransactions in games like Overwatch, Deus Ex, etc.
2. Not a single Xbox One exclusive release
3. Sony making confusing hardware plans
4. Nintendo showcase is the most mediocre line-up for both Wii U and 3ds
5. NX rumor overexposure
6. Battlefield 1 VS COD Infinite Warfare is beating a dead horse, and none of them are really bringing anything new to the table.
7. Konami. Enough said.
8. No Man's Sky shows once again hype culture is awful, but consumers sucker into hype over and over again.
9. The Division is generic as hell yet sells millions. (This is more of an opinion)
10. Street Fighter V does not deliver to expectations
11. Seriously... how has the industry not been burnt out by FPS games???

Nah, I have gotten a few good games this year and are waiting for games like Rhythm Paradise Megamix, Mafia 3, Dead Rising 4, The Last Guardian, Gears Of War 4 and Paper Mario Color Splash. Not too shabby imo.

I disagree with nearly every single thing you said. And those that i agree with with I dont care about.

The biggest games of the year aren't even out yet and you're deeming this 'worst year ever'? Forza Horizon 3 is getting rave reviews and I think Sony fans like the latest Uncharted.

Also, we're not burned out on shooters because they exemplify what videogames were invented for. A test of reflexes, endurance, and skill.

This year may not be that great, but it is already better than the train wreck that was 2015. This year has been pretty average so far, but the end of the year looks to be fantastic. With the great lineup that is set for this holiday season, I know I will be satisfied with this year. Also most of the drama you listed there is irrelevant to me and doesn't impact how I feel about this year for gaming.

not even close, between zelda breath of the wild trailer, uncharted 4, dark souls 3, doom and the witcher blood and wine this year has been really good! (for me)

It's been ok so far, nothing spectacular, though. FH3 looks to be the highlight of the year for me, unless BF1 blows me away.

Hell on earth No! Uncharted 4 and Witcher 3 DLC alone makes it one greatest!
