That sounds freaky.

Ive had something slightly differnt. I think I was like 14? and it was late, id been at a friends house.

So I was walking home, on near where I live just round a corner of the street is a field.

Im walking along the street because it has the lamps, so you can see (it was dark), but not so dark you couldnt see at all without it.

But I notice something out over the fields. I stopped up and looked, thinking what is that? I see something that looks like a metal ball (slightly bigger than a football) just floating in the air, running back and forth over the field.

And I swear its like, it knew it got spotted, suddenly it made a quick movement and I lost track of it with my eyes.

At this point Im like... yep I need to get home, and I really dont like its this dark.

So I start walking again, and there it is, right in my path, just lazily hanging in the air in front of me.

At this point my heart jumps in my chest and Im fully freaked out, thinking I need to escape whatever this is, and just as Im about to run away in panic, it does a quick movement again, and is gone from sight. Which naturally is something you really dont want to happend when something scares you. I turn around and find it moved behinde me, and again moves out of sight. Is this thing playing a game with me? like Im not scared enough as is? I try to get it in my sight, but just barely catch its movement out of the corner of my eyes. Its obviously turning in a circle around me as I spin around to get sight of it. I lose track of it again and decide to make a run for it, I ran to the otherside of the street, and up against a bush fence. My reasoning is it cant circle around me if I have my back against something, and that way Id atleast see it if it was around again. I walk slowly sideways back to the fence, around the corner, and run strait back home. This was only a few houses from where I lived so I knew safety was nearby.

I havnt ever experianced anything like it since, and Im half convinced I must have imagined it somehow, the product of a over imaginative mind... or been loseing my mind or something.

I saw something like this but way there up in the sky.
I used to watch the sky at night with my family when we were on my grandpa house, then one day we were watching it and we saw one of them moving, my father and an aunt told us it was a satellite or something, so I just got impressed with it, as how could I see a satellite so damn far away, but ok, them some other day we were at it again, they all went inside but I sticked alone there watching when suddenly I saw another one, but it suddenly stopped on its movement, and went backwards at a fucking insane speed.
Around 2 years after that I'd got used to look up for it sometimes, I would also talk with a friend about it and we would look up sometimes, but one day when he had just got back home and I was returning to my house, around midnight, I decided to look a bit and saw another of those, and it was even crazier than that other time, it was on it's usual moving speed, but it also stopped, this time it remained still for some seconds and it started to go wild, it would go fast but nowhere near as fast as that last time, but to all sides, it would move in all directions, and it suddenly stopped again and started going on the normal speed foward like nothing happened, but them it accelerated insanely and it was way, way faster than last time, I went out of my sight (there was nothing blocking it at all) in like 1 second, it just vanished midway of my field of vision, it was way faster than a shooting star, I can't even imagine how fast it was.

I still wonder wtf was that... it wasn't scary, it was exciting, tho XP

I saw something that looked a lot what you described here, it was about 24 years ago from the window of my parents home, my little sister was with me, we were looking at it in total awe, my sister started to silently cry while grasping my arm, even today I can't think of it without shivering & getting goosebumps all over. It was quite a "show", I remember it so clearly as if it happened yesterday.

It was an orange light, it did more or so what you said but with a variant after the erratic moves a phenomenal speed, like it was making huge triangles in the sky it went a little far away, a fainter orange light came from beneath it, like something falling to the ground, & as soon as it disappeared behind the tree line, like when it hit the ground, the main light accelarated instantly at unbelievable speed towards the sky, so fast we barely saw the light trail of it, almost like the effect of retinal persistence/persistence of vision. Woosh it was gone...

That is to this day the most amazing, out of this world thing I've witnessed & I'm happy I was not alone to see it, otherwise I could have perfectly believed that I was having some kind of allucination!

I had a freak accident on my R1 a little over 10yrs back. Now anyone that's into sport bikes will know that everyone has an accident with their name on it and you can only hope yours isn't fatal, so it wasn't the accident that scared me but everything that happened..

So I was on a dual carriage road and weaving through traffic on my side of the road. There was a traffic light up ahead so the cars werent moving but I could ride just along the middle of the road (straddling the line between on going and oncoming traffic).

So this guy decided to cross the road, and figured the front of a massive bus was the bestplace to do it, and he was talking to some guy on the other side of the road so he was walking backwards. I was doing around 30MPH. Long and short hr didn't see me when he got out the front of the bus, and it was too late for me to come to a stop when he came in front of me. I swerved to avoid him, but my arm clipped on body or something. Jerked my arm backwards and banged my head against the tank of my bike (and this was one of those days I stupidly decided not to wear a helmet cause it was just a "quick run".

The guys planted foot spun on its axis and broke and my head hit my "blunt" tank with so much force that I passed out. I literally passed out but the bike didn't fall. it just swerved to the other side of the road and kept moving towards oncoming traffic with me passed out on it. eventually my friend who I was carrying behind me reached over when he realized I had passed out and grabbed the handle bars and steered me clear to the other side of the road.

I still have a small curr scar around my temple where my head hit.... it requires about 4 stitches.

Most interesting thing, is that I have no memory of the minutes before, the accident and the minutes after the accident. All I recall was trying down the intersection and going towards the traffic lights, and waking up at the back of someone Jeep being rushed to the hospital with a hit girl using my shirt as a fan to fan me down and my friend screaming something in my ear. Then I passed out again. And woke up with a nurse over me stitching my head.

Everything i just said now, are based on the stories of the incident I was told.

Not necessarily scary, but stressful. I went out of town on my own once, decided to take the bus to a city 200+ miles away from home, all because I wanted to attend a concert of a band I really like.

The trip was slow and annoying, mostly because I got cornered by fat dudes while on the bus and I could barely move in my seat, but as a soon as I got to the town; it got much better. Attended the concert, had a great time and decided to go back to the hotel... My dumb ass got on a bus, thinking it would leave me very close by to the hotel... Little did I know that I'd drop me off close... But not walking distance close, in a raggedy ads hood at night... Rain started POURING and my dumb ass couldn't think about calling a cab... So I stuck to standing outside a store in that raggedy ass hood while clearly thug looking people came to pump up gas to their vehicles. No one messed with me, but I was stupid enough to never call a cab... So I asked a cop if he could please give me a ride to the hotel (they're supposed to help, right?), after some small talk and the officer being a little hesitant... He decided to help me out, luckily I got the ride back to the hotel (which was about three minutes away, I just couldn't walk because the entrance is OFF A HIGHWAY, and it was pouring rain).

So shit wasn't going well... Clearly. But it all got worse. In the room, I could hear the neighbors laughing and then arguing (?), they began to shout things to me and even went as far as to hit the wall of my room. I called the reception and explained what was going on, but the receptionist (and self proclaimed "boss") was an idiot and made up excuses. I guess they did check on the neighbors, since bitches came and knocked on the door to my room out of nowhere. They clearly were either drunk or on drugs and had a bone to pick with me. I turned off the lights and decided to wait for a chance to go to the reception, so I quietly packed my shit and then ran to the lobby. The dude couldn't be bothered to help me and even argued that I was making up stuff, because "they've never had any issues", so he completely dismissed my words and got aggressive with me. I decided to go ghetto on him and made him give me a refund, while I got a cab to pickme up and take me to the bus station.

The taxi driver asked me what was wrong, I briefly explained it to her and she told that me that it was VERY UNLIKELY for the hotel to never have problems, as a shitty neighborhood was close by. She gave me a discount and also adviced me to calm down. She was really nice, and so where the customer service at the bus station. I ended up heading back home at 3am, angry at two middle eastern people for being a holes, and completely hrateful to three African American people, who I could've easily labelled as "ghetto", and got my dumb ass proved wrong.

It was a shitty second part of the day, but the first part was worth the trouble. I got to see my favorite male singer ever LIVE, and hooked up witha very handsome and nice guy. But ended up stuck in a crappy hood, verbally attacked by crackheads and a receptionist, while proven wrong about stereotypes.

A few months ago, at about 4AM, I woke up to a loud bang, followed the crash of something breaking.

It was one of those situations where you are instantly wide awake. I froze, listening for any other sound, but heard nothing. After a minute or so, I slipped out of bed and grabbed my machete from the night stand. I crept around, checking the doors and windows, but didn't see anything out of place. I was about to peek outside when I saw something dark on the floor in the den, however, so I risked turning on the light.

A picture frame had fallen. On the way down, it had disturbed a ceramic figure, which had then fallen and broken on the hearth.

You keep a machete by your bed? :O

Doesn't everyone?

My other machete is on top of the bookcase by the front door.

In 5th Grade me and my friend were walking through tornado like winds. School had just ended and we started walking to his house, we passed a stop sign which was shaking like crazy like it was about to fly off. And you could only hear the strong winds and nothing else. We went to his house and I decided to run to my house which was around the corner of his. I wasn't that scared and it was actually kinda awesome.

GHOST STORY, WHAT'S UP SON:

So, my mom's side of the family is from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (See: NOT Detroit, towns have Native American names, haunted as fuck). A few years back, we all went up there for my grandpa's funeral, and honestly we all kind of knew it would be the last time we were all together. So to drive that depressing thought out of our heads, we all went to the bar. And by we, I mean everyone but the minors, my step-aunt (who watched them at my uncle Mark's house), and myself (alone at the only house in the family with internet, my uncle Dave's).

Backstory on my uncle Dave's house; it's super fucking old. Like holy shit old. Like, civil war old. It'd been passed down through the family for generations, and it was well known for supernatural activity in the family (though only a handful of people in the family were witness to it). Prior to my grandpa's illness, Dave had remodeled the thing, and it was nice. Bad ass bathroom, ethernet in the whole thing... It was a 21st Century house now. But my aunt and uncle were admittedly working through a rather active bit of supernatural as a result. Enter my grandpa, when they converted the dining room into a makeshift room for him to spend his final days in. He passed away not long after taking a turn for the worse.

So here I am in this house that is not only said to be haunted, but said to be extra haunted at the time with a dose of death to top it off. But silly ol' 21-year-old, "I'm not really a drinker" me forgot about ALL of this. The first floor of the house is one of those kind at circles around the staircases leading to the basement and second floor, so you can actually run circles around it. Looking at the front of the house, going clockwise from top-left it's; back of the living room/new bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, and back to the backside of the living room. So here I am, sitting on my laptop, talking to my girlfriend alone in a big dark haunted house.

When I heard a long, heavy sigh from the dining room.

"Hello?", I called out. There was no answer, so I chalked it up to maybe hearing things. Then it came again.

"Dave?", I called, thinking my uncle had returned. Again, no answer, though now I was a bit on edge. The third time I heard the sigh, I got up and walked into the dining room. As I rounded the corner into the dining room, I couldfeel the floorboards creaking on the other side of the bookcase, between the backside of the living room and the kitchen. I followed it all the way back around to the couch, unable to find anyone. Then the sigh came again, and I had an epiphany. Word for word, I spoke aloud to myself, "Oh yeah, this place is haunted as fuck." I put on my earbuds and explained the situation to my girlfriend at the time, who seemed rather shocked that I was so calm about it. It'd not been my first encounter with strange happenings in the U.P., after all; my grandma and grandpa's house that they had lived in after giving Dave the family house was also haunted as fuck, though I hated it there since I felt it was more malevolent than Dave's house.

When Mindy (Dave's daughter/my cousin) and Brian (my cousin) came back from the bar early, I met them at the door to the house.

"Nope," I said, "We're going out to deer camp*."

Mindy looked at me like I was crazy and asked, "Why?"

"Uh, because your dad's house is haunted as balls?"

Mindy immediately had this look of horrified understanding as she said, "Oh fuck, that's right, and with grandpa passing and the remodel... Yeah, we'll hang out at deer camp instead."

"Bring sandwiches**, I'm stressed the fuck out."

*= In the UP, "deer camp" is typically a small shed, building, deer blind, or even motor home at the edge of one's property. The term deer camp comes from the intent of shooting any deer that come within sight of the deer camp. But typically it's just a place to drink, smoke, and be total jackasses. There's even a song about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb9yhhflmvY

When I was younger in my teens, my father would invite a lot of his friends over to talk and debate politics and drink.

Being the good Indian daughter I used to 'bring the men' food and drink. One of the friends started to befriend me with gifts and money and he was older but good looking and I was young and naive.

Then one day he took advantage of that trust and brutally assaulted me and took my virginity. My faith in people was shattered and I could not do much as shortly after I felt I was to blamed and he quickly went back to India.

It was scary as the bad thing actually happened to me.

My parents and twin brother were riding in the car together one morning in the mid to late 90's and saw a huge UFO flying above them. My dad remembers how my brother was screaming and tells my dad to go. Haven't seen one since but still pretty cool.

I have shit tons of these stories, but I'm in London visiting family. Might share a story a day or something until I've got them all out of my system.

Here is a quick one which is a bit funny too.

When I was 12 I went to Tanzania for holidays. My moms family is from there and we were staying at her parents house. I remember my mom putting me to sleep and telling me she will close the wooden shutters, pull the mosquito net down and switch the light off. I remember waking up about 2-3 hours later and I couldn't see anything. It was literally pitch black to the extent I couldn't see my hands that I was waving in front of my face. I started to panic more and look around for any form of light and when I couldn't see anything I realised I had gone blind. When the reality set in, I started screaming for my mom.

Within a minute everyone in the family came bursting through the door like it were a drug bust, panicking thinking the worst. Turns out I hadn't gone blind. I was a kid from a modern world with Street lamps, 24/7 electricity and I had just experienced my first blackout in a third world country where the house had wooden window shutters.
