In my basement I have a box full of cases for Super Metroid, Super Castlevania IV, Final Fantasy III, etc., I would say yes, yes I do keep them. I like boxart, always have, always will.

Yeah, I guess that's it. And piracy as another separate common reason, probably. Still, posting a case doesn't cost that much either, and it increases the value of the product so much that I imagine a lot of sellers would still see it as worth the extra effort and cost. Besides, on eBay the buyer usually pays for postage and packing.
Only barbarians throw out the cases! Of course I keep the cases!

If it's Blu-Ray, it's scratch resistance. |
I have Resistance 2 game disc with scratches and it doesnt work, so no it's not resistant.
StarOcean said: I say this because when I go to GameStop or, hell, even half my friends houses' they only keep the discs or cartridges. It's a pet peeve of mine. It may be just the "keeping everything" mentality of me being a collector. But does this not bother anyone else? Everyone thinks Im crazy for not liking games without their cases; I mean, I AM crazy, but I can't be the only one bothered by it x.x XD |
I ditch everything at some point along the way and move on to whatever is new.
I have done this for longer than many have been alive judging by some age demographics threads. I don't collect video games or consoles but I've spent more money on gaming than I'd probably like to number crunch since the Vic 20.
l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble? If not, I'll keep looking.
I am on the other side of my sig....am I warm or cold?
Marco....
Sure sure, with disks it is the way to go. On the SNES era we had these paper boxes that did not last at all, I used to keep them aside and the cartridges in a pile. But I used to sell the old console when I bought a new one, or donate it with all games. Owning more than one console was such a foreign concept to me at that time.
Now I have WiiU, Xbox One and PS$, they all use disks, so, what can I do but to keep the cases?
Oh yeah, I keep everything. I still have a box filled with my old N64 boxes tucked away in a closet.
I always did. I remember when I was 10 my mom threw away my N64 boxes doing spring cleaning, I was so pissed. So while I do, it did not always come to pass.
As a grown adult however, I keep everything they come in. The only games that do not have their box or case are older games I got off of ebay. In that case I just put them in a protective plastic case designed for the cartridge. If the game is disc based though, I will only buy those with the original case.
I try to keep everything. Actually, I've become really picky and now only buy games if they're complete.
