What a crime to use your own money to support someone you agree instead of being the person being paid to say such support.

what do you thik advertiing and marketing is?  What about political advertisements?  Hillary has spent far more than Trump on tv adds to date

Marketing and advertising doesn't have to be so damn low.  Let the politicitians do what they do.  I don't want to see other products advertised like election canidates.

Marketing and advertising often is "so low" and political adds at every level are terrible/condescending IMO  but they will continue due to their being effective -  They are effective because enough people "buy in"-   When/if "we the people" quit falling for this lowest common denominator stuff then and only then will it change

Will the people who think Palmer Lucky should be fired, silenced, disgraced ect for supporting his political beliefs please let us know your opinion on George Soros? What should happen to him? Should he be silenced? Should his companies be boycotted?

There is a difference in this case. If Luckey had donated millions directly to Trump's campaign then I don't think anyone would have batted an eyelid. The fact is he's donated money to a group known for posting racist, misogynistic shit so it ceases to be purely politics.

what is this group?  who says they are racist, misogynistic etc?  i m not saying the group is or is not, but those terms get thrown around quite easily and improperly these days all too often-   FYI Palmer lucky Says he is supporting Johnson (i think- but neither Trump or Hilary)

legally Palmer lucky or anyone else are not allowed to donate millions to a political candidate- the maximums are in the thousands- however, companies, individuals and special interest can fund many PACS and similar to the tune of big money and most do-  so this guy Lucky is getting treated as if he did something over and above but it is actually very common-

I doubt he is going to donate to a group that is actually racist or misogonist because it would not help him or any of the candidates he may or may not support-  but i have not seen/read anything about this group yet  -  prople are getting called racist and or misogonist fpr simply disagreeing with some peoples views so  until i learn more about this group ill reserve judgement as we all should

for the record, the little i have read about Palmer Lucky (it had nothing to do with politics) he seems like a class A prick-   but just because he is or may be an Uber prick does not mean he should be held to a different standard than the thousands of other wealthy people and companies that use their own and other peoples money to buy influence or support something theyy believe-  What he has done is legal and common place

So... Anyone care to tell me why Mr. Lucky can't lend his support however he sees fit? Or did I moved to North Korea and hit my head so I forgot?

Hate to break it to you, but that was some scam some people tried to pull on reddit. it never went anywhere no one was ever paid to make meme.

This story was pushed out because the NYT reported about the Hilary super-pac Correct the Record that pays people to "astroturf"

So move along this is just typical pro-Clinton media deflection.

I want to know more about this, this was the most interesting post here by far.

Like maybe 10 days ago this was this fund raising thing on the Donald over on reddit, it was a big mess, I think it might have been this Oculus guy who was trying to do it, but it was not executed properly, a couple of the mods resigned over it. This is the instance these articles are reffering to as people getting paid to make memes.

In reality what happened was the NYT put a piece calling out CTR and highlighting how Clinton basically has to pay people to control social media. Within 6 hours the hit jobs like posted above were put out as a response. It is totally false and was just meant to detract attention from the NYT piece.
