Forums - Politics Discussion - Trump's Tax Plan Would Add $5.3 Trillion To National Debt

To be honest neither Trump or Clinton will bring the debt under control.

Obama added 9-10 trillions dollars to the debt and that is with some austerity and no large massive government spending plans after the 2009 Stimulus really....

So I think Trump and Clinton proposals would be a disaster with either massive spending or massive cuts and remember entitlement spending will start to accelerate soon.

Obamacare? it sure isnt free

Is that better or worse then our current situation?

Nobody expects Hilary to balance the budget. Lets be honest, dems get a lot of support from people wanting more free stuff from the government.

Not to mention Trump have filed for bankcruptcy 4 times.

^ this.

He makes money by cheating the system, pulling funds out, and fileing for bankcruptcy.

He would have made more money if all the money his father gave him, was just used for investments in banks.

Its weird hes viewed as this successfull bussiness man, when in fact hes not, he was just handed alot of money from his family.

Meanwhile look at how the world economy was when Bill Clinton was in office.

Things where so much better back then.

When we talk about the debt forecasts for the candidates, we are talking about how much they deviate from current projections. So essentially we would have $5tril more debt in 10 years under Trump than if we did nothing (which totals about $8 tril).

As for Clinton, current debt forecasts have her close to breaking even (cost of $0.2 tril in 10 years) with current projections (which totals about $3tril).

I made a more in depth post I think last page about this topic.

That is not accounting for economic downturns, wars Hillary will be involved and possible natural disasters from Global Warming ^

Obama essentially ran as a fiscal conservative, we saw how that worked out. If people trust Hilary to get the budget under control...

'Free stuff from government'? Nice, you must live in the nation where you don't pay any taxes.

First of all that website is biased and was funded by many high ranking officials from the US government/military and secondly, if you read that article they say 'a new analysis from a non-partisan group', then don't cite their reference or even provide any kind of breakdown as to how his tax program would add that much debt. So yeah, taking this with a massive grain of salt (at this point I don't want trump or Hilary to win, but it definitely feels like there's a trump hate bandwagon that is swarming the media because it brings in viewers)

Cutting taxes also need a budget cut/decreasing the size of the govenment. otherwise, it will fail. Both Hillary and Trump sux.

The only way Trump's tax cut will not negatively effect the budget is if the government can maintain at least 3.5% GDP every year which doesn't look likely.
