Forums - Politics Discussion - Trump's Tax Plan Would Add $5.3 Trillion To National Debt

http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/Trump-Tax-Proposal-Trillions-Debt/2016/09/22/id/749519/

Due to huge (or in Trump talk: yyyyuge) tax cuts for ultra-wealthy people in Trump's tax plan, it would add over $5 trillion to the national debt. And before someone says "yeah Hillary is the same" her plan as studied by a non-partisan group would only add $200 billion because she is willing to tax ultra wealthy people to pay for her iniativies more or less. That's a 20x difference.

Say what you want about the Clintons, but they know how to run an economy.

I hate both sides for this absolute reason. The right seem to have forgotten what it means to be conservative. It should not be about cutting taxes, it should be about balance budget. (I am willing to look long term for this, as in you spend some today, so the future you productive, such things like bridges, trains, subways.)

It is also the reason I am very much anti-NDP in Canada. (These guys are the left.)

I still remember when the crisis exploded and Bill Gates and Warren Buffet said "tax us, the rich people". People say that capitalism is independent, but the government bailed out a LOT of private companies. Not only that but the government also entered bargaining process with many corporations to reevalueate their debt and lower their tax so that they could get back on their feet.

Trump's idea of economy is stupid as the next guy. Bare in mind many, yes, many, Economic Sciences Nobel Prize winners backed up Obama's economy plan. And these guy know something about economy right? I mean... look at who they are! There are many YouTube videos, TED talks, BigThink talks... University professors backing up the democrats economic policy.. You can say it's all political, but they must know what they talk about. Right?

They're freaking Nobel Prize winners.

Now I ask, what big name in the economic sciences field is supporting Trump? I haven't seen one. Not one.

Also, just take a look at republicans all over the world, moderate right-wing party leaders and their "tax cut" on the rich and "tax increase" on the poor. Take a look at Spain or Italy... Spain this year surpassed 110% of it's GDP in debt for the first time in history. They're doing well, right?

Yeah... rich people getting richer and the poor getting poorer, always the same loving-wallstreet story.

The upside is that with this much added to the national debt, the billions he'll waste on his stupid wall will seem insignificant.

Signature goes here!

But I thought Mexico was paying for the wall? Oh yeah, Trump "forgot" to bring that part up when talking to the Mexican president, lol.

Duh. People don't understand this. They want it all but don't want to give up anything. This mindset has corrupted our nation since the late 90's starting with the effects of NAFTA. You can't give rich people more tax breaks, you have to tax them more because they can withstand it. In a form that we're familiar with ;

When you have 6 pokemon, 1 is level 100 and the others are level 1 and you're at the elite four, do you want to send out your level 1 pokemon? No, the level 100 pokemon can do the work because of its status.

Yeah I know, silly analogy but it works. What sense does it make to tax rich people less if you are in a trade deficit in the trillions? All that wealth is clumping up in one place, with nowhere to go. Not to the poor or middle class. Yet CEOs swear on their mothers grave that if they pay above 7$ an hour, their business would go bankrupt. I know that there's a check and balance system for the relative amount of work done at minimum wage jobs but 7$ isn't enough for anybody to live on anything.

Our nation is so corrupt, greedy is the better word for it. The embodiment of Trump. They can't find any traces of his donations except for 10K of the "Millions" he said he donated...which is why he won't release his tax returns... he's greedy. He talks about other politician's misuse of wealth and yet he lives in a tower plated with hundreds of pounds of gold. Wake up America, you're letting the enemy in the door and you don't even know it. This man will finish America. We're already in a critical state, albeit less critical than we were 8 years ago.

Somebody who claims he can turn dirt into jobs like some messiah and has nothing to back it up with will ruin us.

IMO he also won't release his tax returns because

1.) It would show he's not worth nearly as much as he brags he is. A lot of the "Trump" properties he brags about are not actually owned by him, he just licenses his name onto them.

2.) There likely is a ton of shady tax avoidance going on. There probably are also shady overseas ties with countries like Russia.

3.) He probably is carrying a lot of debt, which isn't a good look.

For these reasons he's deathly afraid of releasing his tax returns (meanwhile you're free to look at Clinton's taxes for the last 10 years).

When will the elections end ?

Great to hear that we can potentially experience another economical collapse

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Not to mention Trump have filed for bankcruptcy 4 times.
