Kinect is a fantastic device, it's MS shitty support for it that killed it off.

As another poster noted, maybe once Microsoft implements VR into the Xbox it will give Kinect a second wind.

Xbox One + Kinect + Halo = 190$

W T F ?
That has to be sold at a gigantic loss.

As someone else mentioned in the thread they are refurbished X1 units, so returns back to MS basically being repackaged and resold on, no great loss on a console which was already sold at full price and then returned, if they were returned out of warranty then MS prolly making decent money from this.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Seems a little excessive don't you think?  What if you were simply just walking by the TV in the living room with no intention of playing a game?

Then what does it hurt? Xbox One owners run their TVs, Netflix, etc. through there so it signing you in automatically when it turns on lets you stream shows, play games, run any other apps you might have, etc. Since saying 'Xbox On' is how every member of my family turns the TV on in our living room for any purpose whatsoever (if the living room TV is on, the xbox is on: it turns on the audio receiver as well) then having it sign us in so we don't have to go through extra steps to get into netflix, amazon video, etc. is very helpful. In what circumstance would it be harmful?

I was just thinking the system is running constantly is where I'm going.  To my knowledge all systems can save sign on creditionals.  I used to run my Wii U in standby to download the latest patch etc.. but I recently just stopped everything including the quick boot due to wanting to leave my system off instead of idling all the time.  The only savior of course is that Wii U patches usually aren't too large so if need to download it doesn't take long.

Maybe, but I think MS thinks in too much one-dimensional terms when it comes to this. They have no apparent need for the Kinect anymore, and therefore it is discarded. It´s sad but I will atleast have my Kinect Sports :).

Was good for Xbox Fitness. Think that's the only thing I ever used Kinect for.

Still cool as a matter of fact mine just gave up and is out of warranty and I'm getting a new one ASAP... I waste way too much of my precious time signing in and navigating the dashboard with the pad it's still worth the 60 bucks I'll pay for it no questions asked...

I found Kinect is convenient for the voice commands, not a fan of the motion controlling.

I think what Microsoft should do going forward is include a couple of Microphones on the front of their consoles just for that, it's not even a big cost either.

It has never been cool.

Kinect was an excellent idea im sure it give people hours of fun i remeber when the origional came out it was flipping huge...

i have Kinect 2.0 with my X1 i suppose kids use it for dance central but apart from that the functionality for it with games is slim indeed. i do use the voice controls for screenshots etc
