Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot: "The new Nintendo console is a fantastic machine"

They said the same about Wii U so this means little and its just a deja vu from 2012.

Well they were still one of the biggest supporter of the WiiU though.

Let me reiterate the concept of insanity. If Ubisoft has said this once about Nintendo hardware and it sucked, they would be insane to jump the gun again without any genuine feelings about the NX. Nintendo would also be insane to make a console as outdated and costly as Wii U, see it blow up in their face, and say "Our new thingy is new and awesome".

I'm not saying NX might not suck but we're going off of what has been said here.

Yay, NMH3 for NX or ZombiU2!

Yeah sounds like a hybrid. He's also previously said it would be great for families or something. Also again, he refers to it in a singular tense (one machine).

That's reading too much into it.  A 'hybrid' is a singular entity and that's why even we refer to it as "IT"

I would love both of those. NMH3 should be more like the first one though.

Well, they did miles better than EA but they really just did it in 2012 and 2013, after that it was close to nothing. Like before a exclusive game for launch time is rumored so that speaks about their relationship, but about the quoted statement, it doesn't say much more than the usual compliments between partners that help each other.

The same guy said NX was meant to attract children before. He probably sees it as an easy cash-in like Wii was. So not a good sign.

When it comes to western AAA developers, I'll continue to have a "show me, don't tell me" attitude with them after they basically used the Wii as their shovelware platform to fund their big AAA games and how they abandoned the Wii U shortly after fellating Nintendo publicly with honeyed words of praise and ultimately disappointing Nintendo fans.

Dude, third party games on the Wii U sold like shit except for a few. Plenty of developers tried with the system and put games on it, but when they saw none of them selling well THAT was when they stopped. Some developers even tried several times like Ubisoft. Why would they keep making games if they weren't gonna sell well on the system?

You're acting like developers abandoned the Wii U just because they wanted to, when that's not the case. Business wise it would make no sense to keep supporting it, it would be like throwing money down the drain. They tried several times and failed.  Had some Wii U owners actually decided to buy third party games they could have receieved more, such as maybe if Injustice sold well the Wii U would have got Mortal Kombat X, but that didn't happen.

Of course NX will be designed to attract children. It's a central part of Nintendo's audience base and their IP are geared towards being kid-centric.

Either tell me which games are going to be on it or shush. Saying its fantastic means nothing if they aren't gonna make games for it.

Unless they're going to port all their games this praise is worthless.
