Is Xbox marketing really that bad in Japan so almost no one knows that it exists?

I kinda wish we have trackers for other Asian markets like Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, etc. so we have a general idea of the market trends in Asia, not just Japan.

Most of Asia (not just japan):

Population of Japanese XB1 owners are really few though.  Japanese Xbox fans have  loud voice.

So their presence is not small.

Well it is great news for people who dislike or hate Japanese games, the investments in Japanese games that Microsoft did was really positive and helped to create some new Ip's or boost some franchises. Now Japan is full with kids that don't know Xbox but knows what call of duty is.

Yeah, but it is fans. Average gamer who is not loyal to some specific brand doesn't care about Xbox or even doesn't know it exists. Am I right?

Wasn't Xbox One the first console to ever ship to China if I'm not mistaken. I remember reading something like this

Edit.

Yes.  I think average (play smartphone and handheld ) gamers  don't know XB1.

People tend to misunderstan the scenario for consoles in China before the ban was lifted. Consoles ALWAYS were sold in mainland China, and China is pretty much a PS territory (for consoles anyway), and PS brand was already pretty strong there. When the ban was lifted XB1 was the first to be available officially, but this doesn't mean much, even sales wise, the grey market still much bigger than the official one.

So, MS doesn't have any TV ads or banners in Japan to promote its console? That's what i wanted to hear.

To be honest in my country PS wins over Xbox 4:1 at least I think. Xbox sales is not good here either. Not as bad as in Japan. Because 360 was very popular here and left some loyal fans who bought Xbox One instead of PS4 this gen. But there were even rumours that EA wants to stop selling physical copies here for Xbox One. Because game sales are bad compared to PS4. Also considering that console gaming is not popular here we have situation like PC>>>>>>>>>>>PS4>>>Xbox>>Nintendo. But at least Nintendo has good marketing after they officially came here in 2012. So I think they will achieve way more popularity soon
