Forums - General Discussion - Which gaming review site do you trust the least?

Are there any gaming magazines, or review sites that you don't trust at all? Why not? What did they do to lose your trust? Are their reviews, in general, just bad?

Personally, I'm not a fan of Edge. They seem to pass out a lot more 5/10's than other sites. That would be fine, but they do it to a lot of games that recieve 8-9's from other sites. If Edge doesn't like a particular game, but the rest of the press does, you can be sure that Edge is flat out wrong.

I mean the obvious is IGN but, to me none of them should be trusted.
I only watch small youtubers review a game when deciding on getting one. Over 100k subs is about when I start thinking it's a promotion rather than a review when talking about youtubers.

Gameinformer. The whole magazine feels like an advertisement.

To a lesser extent I do not trust IGN and Gamespot. I always have that underlying uncomfortable feeling of untrustyness when reading their reviews, although they are largely trustable and way better than in the past.

I don't know. They all have some weird reviews now and then.

Polygon. Their gaming skills is questionable at best let alone their review skills

lol I forgot all these guys. Obviously completely untrustable. I don't read their reviews at all.

I know what you mean there. Personally I like Nintendolife, but a lot of those sites with the brand in the name can be sketchy.

But the 5s are the good thing about Edge.

In the scenario you describe, naturally if one site differentiates from all the others you will hesitate to believe in that single site, but that would be the case with any site. But I guess you think it just tends to happen a lot more often with Edge, that a 80-90% game gets a 5 from Edge (which never happens in Gameinformer for example). And I guess that's true.

But overall I think it's a good thing that Edge dares to stand up against the popular opinion once in a while, except when they do it just to appear edgy (no pun intended).

IGN, Polygon and GamesRadar+.

GamesRadar used to be good but now the take points away for the dumbest of reasons, just like IGN.
