am i correct that with game for gold any 360 BC title is registered to your account to keep? when you redeem it says you now own this game etc. i understand the xbox one games are like psn plus where you have to be a subscriber to use them

Yeah x360 don't need gold to play the games with gold you owned before.

Sadly, the uservoice page for people request BC games is no long up. However, the most requested games have already been added.

Yeah two unexpected releases, one's collection is soon releasing (on ps4) and the other one is a niche game. Every game release now seems as an unexpected bonus.
