Forums - Sony Discussion - The Witcher 3 not getting any PS4 Pro features :(

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will not be patched or updated to support the 4K features of PlayStation 4 Pro.

"Since we want to fully focus on Cyberpunk 2077 and Gwent [standalone game], and converting The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from a full HD game into a 4K one [on console] would be too much of a time and resource-consuming process, we decided not to release an edition of Wild Hunt supporting the new features of PlayStation Pro," CD Projekt Red told me.

Damn I was almsot certain that CD Project Red would be dropping a patch for the Witcher 3 with PS4 features, Would of been great to of revisted Witcher 3 with one. Guess we just gotta settle with it hitting a 100% stable 30fps.

Putting all there staff on Cyberpunk 2077 makes sense though rather than putting some back on The Witcher 3 and then having to delay their new game but it seems we will have to wait until Cyberpunk 2077 for some PS4 Pro goodness from CD Project Red :)

For a to-be first time Witcher player, I'm fine with it.

Makes sense, they aren't exactly as big as some AAA developers so...

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Im sure that in a couple of years they'll release an ultimate edition with all these features.

I'm fine with it if it means we get their next game earlier, Just when the pro was announced I though damn The Witcher would be great with these features and it was the first game that came to mind, Maybe it was just me but I thought a lot would of as well.

Witcher 3 was the first game I thought that would take advantage of the PS4 Pro's power. It can look a lot better even at 1080p. They could make it 60fps.

The Play Station Four will upscale games to 4K at least and this will very unlikely require any patching (as it will be hardware), right?
So, if the upscaling is at good as the Xbox One S (which is more than likely), that's a plus even without patching.

Does the Pro run existing PS4 games better, even if not patched? I suppose it should but what's the official word on that?

I assume that would be the case, but I'm not sure either.

Im not so sure. I mean Mega Man 3 doesnt run any better on the Wii. The game itself has to be patched.
