If Islam is a religion of peace, religious fundamentalists should be the most peaceful.

I saw this as a person raised in a Muslim household before you call me racist.

Islam isn't a race, so only ignorant people would accuse you of being racist for such a comment.

Critics of Islam are not racist, just as critics of feminism are not necessarily sexist.

Ideas and people are not one and the same and should be able to be seen separately.

I believe that we should show love and respect to all people, but be free to criticise their ideas.

Around the Network

You cannot and should not "ban" a religion, but you should make sure to check who enters your country better, not judging them on religion or where they come from. Its hard to stop extremists, the internet, the hate that has been building up in recent years.

Whatever the solution is, banning a religion is not among them.

My point is I hear Obama and world leaders talk like parrots that 'Islam is peace'

No it is not.

No religion with extremist elements is peaceful.

I am not saying hate on Muslims either, just  I dislike the talking point as its pointless nonsense.

Everything has an extremist element to it.

Buddhism, atheism, politics, video games, pornography- you name it.

Just because a barrel of apples has some rotten apples, doesn't mean the entire barrel is rotten as well.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

I agree. It is not a religion of peace.

But it seems to me people have trouble separating a belief system from the people who believe it so I reinforce this point every chance I get.
