What?! Early 2017? So many big releases for early next year. Guess I'll have to push back some other purchases cause I need this a.s.a.p

Well if they're aiming for early 2017, realistically it probably won't release until holiday 2017 :P

There is no reason to release in early 2017 when you will launch FFXV in the end of November.

Lol....early 2017... i think SE jist like throwing dates out there just for the heck of it

More like 2019......

They are the ones who made a party to release the release date of FFXV, and then they delayed it.

Funny thing is that they made a joke in that party. The counter that announced the release date stopped on late November, then it changed to late September.

lol Did I just time travel to the past? I'm scared now.

nah man, it's just to show that FF7R is not episodic as some people fear it would be.

So likely

Part 1 - Midgar
Part 2 - Search for Sephiroth and black materia
Part 3 - Cloud recovering and final battle

I hope they fill in between the games in that case with new content - hopefully they'll add some stuff from Crisis Core and Before Crisis stories.

OR

it could be even something better.....

Part 1 - Final Fantasy VII

Part 2 - Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core and Before Crisis flashback

Part 3 - Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus

First disc is no doubt Midgar, just look at the size of this for example.

North Edge Station. The beginning in the original FF7 game.

South Edge Station, in the remake.

If Midgar is going to be this  big in the game, imagine the rest of the world. Yeah I'd say it is impossible to put it all on a single disc.

Would make sense for at least one part to be released next year, as it's the 20th anniversary... although I'm wondering what they're gonna' do it make it into three games; will each game be based on each of the three discs of the original, meaning they'll be shorter when played on their own, or will they be creating new content and adding on to the story to make each game in this trilogy the standard 40-50 hours we see in a Final Fantasy?

The Latter. They pretty much said that when they announced the game.

Part 1 - Midgar

Part 2 - Sephiroth search to Aerith death

Part 3 - to finish.

Those sources look shady.

I just cannot stand watching Aerith die again, and in better graphics? sniff* sniff*

That is absolute nonsense. What is the difference between episodic and multi-part here? Is it not episodic if it only has 3 episodes? Might want to inform TV series of that.

The game is obviously episodic. Its the main game divided in 3 parts. Its not 3 different stories with some connecting threads.

Maybe we will hear something at psx for release date
