Forums - Sony Discussion - Best TV for PS4 Pro?

So I'm shopping around looking for the best TV to pair with my PS4 Pro.  Don't need a ton of screen size but looking for something that will take full advantage.  I've heard that OLED makes a big difference with colors even compared to other HDR and 4k sets.  The 4k and HDR are essential since that's what I'm getting the Pro to see.  The OLED I'm willing to be convinced either way whether it's worth the extra bucks.  I mean there's a 43" Sony that has HDR10 but no OLED then there's a 55" LG that is OLED but is about $1,000 more expensive.  Have you guys put a lot of research into this or seen them side by side?  What TV would you recommend for getting the most out of a PS4 Pro?

EDIT:  Also guys I forgot to mention that input lag is NOT a concern!  I have never noticed and don't play competitively online so not an issue to consider for me when selecting TVs.  I'm also getting it a lot for movie viewing

It really depends on what you're after. I personally would never game on a TV ever again. I upgraded to a 1ms gtg monitor and there's a noticeable difference in the screen refresh rates between the monitor and the TV. But that feature may not be important to you. I got it specifically to reduce lag for my games.

I'll sacrifice colors if it means having a seemingly lag-less display. This isn't my monitor. I still don't need 4K, because I'd rather do 1080 with greater graphical fidelity. Looking as how long we were on 4:3 aspect ratio, I don't see a need to go to 4k when I can just get better 1080.

Also, I forgot about the HDR.  And, TVs of that size usually are going to come with more input lag.  So, again, you don't get to check off every box when it comes to features on a monitor, or TV.  You don't get everything.  Personally, I just want the ps4  pro for stable freamerates, and greater graphics.

Oled is best for a darker viewing evironments.

Don't do an OLED. You lose a lot of grayscale, burn in is a risk factor for extended play, and the blues will start fading in three years.

I recommend an XBR55X850D or a UN55KS8000. There are TVs with faster input lag, but you sacrifice HDR for it.

Don't be fooled by TVs that say they're HDR; it needs to be a 10-bit panel to be real HDR. Sony's 750D and higher are 10-bit, Samsungs KS8000 and higher are 10-bit, and avoid Vizio/LG.

Might help.

Panasonic TVs aren't good this year; LG TVs lack a nose algorithm to accommodate for artifacting; OLEDs are fast, but have half-lifes on the blues will run out in three years; the KU7000 is an 8-bit panel and not "real" HDR.

Than Samsung 8000 model is very good. But it's probably best to wait another year. Prices will drop fast and the tech is improving fast.

OLED loses too much grayscale to be considered good at blacks; OLED also has a very short lifespan, only three years until the blues begin degrading; OLED is subject to burn in, making it less than ideal for extended gaming sessions; the OLEDs (from LG) also lack a noise algorithm, meaning artifacting will become an issue as well.

Apparently the Samsung 8000 and upwards have a very small viewing angle.
