ive heard of mech keyboards but i just dont like them. the key presses feel off etc

im used to keyboard that have half depth sized keys i dunno what you callthem, they are quite and comfy to use.

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Oh good choice. I got myself a mechanical keyboard with green switches last year and I never looked back. The sound and feel is a big selling point for me.

One thing you really need to look out for in keyboards is how many buttons that you can press at the same time. I've found when playing games like Sine Mora (SHMUPs) I can't actually move diagonally and fire at the same time under the default control scheme because my laptop keyboard doesn't allow that many button presses at the same time. Not really sure how to check that sort of thing when buying online, but its a pain in the ass.

Mechanical keyboards? Those are those old fashioned ones with the tall keys right? Haven't had one of those since like, I don't know when we had a Pentium 2 or something. My grandmother still had one of them up until recently, a real aircraft-carrier of a keyboard. Like, huge, noisy and heavy. And now after decades you're telling me they were better for gaming?!

They make newer better ones than your remember Im sure.. and yes the the pro's swear by them in E-sports (input lag).

As do most programmers and others that write alot (accuracy).

Im pretty sure for like 90%+ of us on this forum, the tiny bit of input lag advantage such a keyboard would give, wouldnt make any damn differnce in how well we played competitive games. Most of us would probably value a less noisy keyboard over any benefits a mechanical keyboard could give.

Can you at least turn off this rainbow lights? What an annoying thing.

It has many light modes - single color, multi, wave, blink etc.

I will finally be able to play Thief fan missions properly - Thief is best played in dark but you can't see kboard keys lol

But does it have a no light mode?

I'm not sure. Lights was the biggest selling point for me, although I've never liked my current flimsy kboard keys (Logitech MK300) and mechanical should feel much better. I also look forward to the 'noise'.

Good luck!

I just picked up my first mechanical keyboard recently too. I really liked the MX Blues felt/sounded, but I could bet it'll get annoying if I'm on a phone call or skype call playing games with friends. I'll just have to find a cheap MX blue keyboard for work then

I somehow ended up getting a deal that was too good to pass up on the Strafe RGB with the Silent Red switches.

I bought a Razer Blackwidow Stealth last year with my new rig, it really is a different world with mechanical keyboards, the reason I chose the stealth version is that I write a lot and the noise is a bit annoying without gaming sounds covering them.

Does it have LED lites?
