And you will find neither here. But you will find my trademark conjecture fueled thread, yay!

Many of you must have heard the following supposedly scientific theory about love, it goes something like this: "Love is nature making sure we reproduce so that life continues". To me, this statement made a lot of sense at first, but the more I thought about it the more I felt it was missing something. Missing quite a lot actually. I'm not going to question it for what it says, but for what it doesn't, and that is how love can take form beyond the scope of this statetement while still being within the confines of science.

I will start with the most obvious form of love, which also happens to be the follow up to the reproductive inducing ove, and thats the love parents have for their children. It can be explained as nature making sure we protect our children. We all know children have a hard time surviving on their own, their parents loving them is a surefire way of increasing their chances.

You can also say that love for yourself is a another form of love in wich nature is making sure you don't harm yourself. It will push you into doing everything to increase your survivability and thus continue life through yourself.

Then comes the love for the family, which is an extention of the last two, as nature is making sure we protect each other but also our legacy. We want our DNA strands continuing their existence as part of life wich is why is important for our own self-survival nature that we care for the other members of our family.

And finally theres the love for the others. Quite the divisive fellow, isn't it? Well, one thing is for sure: our chances of survival are simply much better if we care for each other. And that why this form of love is also very important and it should be let exist unfiltered regardless of ethnicity, race, gender and even age, as long as it doesn't become harmful. I believe the world would be a better place if everyone loved everyone.

I mean...everything you said it pretty well summed up in the statement "Love is nature making sure life continues."

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

O.O /thread

Well, yeah, but questioning that statement was more of the means to an end.
