"free from the shackles of Xbox One, Rise of the Tomb Raider is doing incredible things with PS4 Pro"

You do know that the game has been available on PC for 8 months?

So should the original author have named the article title:

"Free from the shackles of Xbox One AND PC, Rise of the Tomb Raider is doing incredible things with PS4 Pro"

On the topic of Tomb Raider. The reboot is definitely a good game, but in no way is it a Tomb Raider game. Starring Lara Croft sure. I really want classic Tomb Raider with Classic puzzles and gameplay, but modernised in a way that doesn't affect the overall feel of classic Tomb Raider. That aside, I will definitely be getting RotTR. It looks to be a very good game.

Both are false. The PC version of the game, already broke the shackles of the Xbox one version. It's even better looking than the PS4 pro version, but not by much to be honest. Also besides the VR mission, the PS4 version of the game has the exact same content as all the others.

So he shouldn't have written that title at all. That's basic console war click bait, and it is just false.

"Rise of the Tomb Raider is doing incredible things with PS4 Pro"

See, that's pretty good, isn't it? And it's the truth.

In India 50Hz TV's and monitors are standard. I think its the same in Europe.

20 years ago 50 Hz was standard in the UK. That changed a long time ago.

I think it is the standard in mainland Europe. Not sure but I read it in an article.

I'll be honest, to me the two versions don't even look *that* different:

Yes sure, PS4 Pro looks better (mostly brighter actually but this is due to HDR not 4K I believe), to the average layman gamer I'll be honest, all of this is hype and not huge tangible differences.

The video is not even 4K or 2K, its 1080p and there are compression artefacts on Youtube. Evrey game looks way better in real life than in Youtube. Screenshots are a better way to compare them.

Sure.  Tell Alex Donaldson that.  He's the author.

Should have probably just been called "Rise of the Tomb Raider is doing incredible things with PS4 Pro."

There really wasnt need for the rest of the headline. Long headlines are annoying enough as it is.

Hey, I'm not a fan of long article titles either, but I'm just trying to preserve "journalist integrity" by keeping it the way it is.

Even in screenshots I'm not seeing a huge difference.

The main difference is actually the HDR, which the XBox version could have if the developer went back and added it in. That's not a performance issue.

I have watched 4K videos on my new 4KTV set, even downloaded full resolution videos to watch ... I mean yeah it's an improvement, but it's not really a "holy shit!" improvement. The main improvement actually is the HDR which basically makes the scenes a lot brighter, that's far more noticable.
