It wouldn't be good, but you're overstating it. 

Super disappointing to be honest. Next should represent 4 weeks of sales + Persona 5 + the slim effect. It was doing 20k-25k per week before the shortages, no?

The Shortage is pretty strong. The PS4 sold in Xbox One's level.

This was 1 week before the release of Recore. If Recore had launched last week, the Xbox One would have a chance of outselling the PS4.

BEASTERIA living up to it's name.  Despite the doom mongers of this gen,  looks like the series is showing growth and has stopped the decline.  

 

With continued legs better than Zesteria and digital sales it's going to beat it!!

PS4 is having massive shortages since 3 weeks, and even before that it was not doing good.

Not only this, but it's also release Persona with a bundle, and an official pricedrop with a new model. If this week PS4 sells only 50/60k, then yes is very disappoint, and it won't take Long before PS4 back to < 20k in weekly sales, which is quite low.

Last year it sold 55k with MGS V and the Limited bundle. You really think would not be disappoint sells THE SAME NUMBERS with a pricedrop + a new model? And Persona which all considering should be almost as big as Metal Gear on PS4 ( probabily 250k).

Well because it wasn't doing good is why I'm skeptical. The bundle is of no big consequence due to the small number of units. I'm predicting more than 56k, but I don't think it'd be a huge disappointment depending on how the following weeks went.

As for going back to sub 20k weeks, I wouldn't expect it this year.

Persona bundle could not be big, but Sony will surely ship lot of PS4 slim so that's not the problem.

Looks at PS4 after the slim anyway, 152k first week and then 55k, which is a big drop. It also dropped to 30k level some weeks after that.

 

So yes, if PS4 sells 50/60k, it will most likely back to sell under 20k this year after this week.

 

I personally expect almost 100k this week, and i don't see it drop under 25k for this year.

This week, especially yesterday, was a massive week. New PlayStation 4 hardware and New Nintendo hardware as well. However, Persona 5 is worth mentioning here.

Advertisements at TSUTAYA Shibuya were really big.



Down to Makuhari Station also there were ads, and finally in Yodobashi Akiba there were lines since early in the morning.
