Yet it leaves that 3rd mistery SOC from AMD in the open... for someting launchingin 2017, that they can't speak of... you gotta admit that the probability is it being for NX is looking better at least!

The probability is low IMO. They also specifically cited that one of those chips is for beyond gaming and have been linked to working with something with Apple.

I trust Peer from IGN, he's said they cross referenced the Eurogamer leak with several of their own sources, I'm going with that until I see a legit source say AMD.

Did you read the article from the link I provided, Nvidia are the ones working with Apple:

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-09-23/nvidia-job-postings-suggest-an-nvidia-chip-return-to-apple-macs

Apple needs GPUs for their next PowerBook Pro & Nvidia are the ones providing it: "Nvidia, in a job ad for a software engineer, said a successful applicant will “help produce the next revolutionary Apple products.” The role would require “working in partnership with Apple” and writing code that will “define and shape the future”’ of graphics-related software on Macs."

"There are three current job listings on Nvidia’s database referencing Apple, with the latest one appearing last week. All three job listings for the Santa Clara, California-based company cite software development for the Mac, while one specifies an Nvidia Mac graphics driver team, pointing to the potential of Nvidia chipsets returning to the Apple computers."

I don't think that what some people said hinting at AMD 3rd SOC being for Apple, can be taken seriously anymore... unless one likes grasping at straws...

This man is gonna be so happy in 4 days if he isn't already, as the NX reveal let alone an announcement isn't happening this month, thus Eurogamer is wrong.

This is about the chipset, not about whether speculation on a release date is accurate or not. Two totally different things.

With all the talk of how AMD had Keller and his team work on both Zen(x86) and K12(ARM) together at the same time, which Keller said is not normal, and how K12 apparently has some Zen baked into its architecture, I gotta believe its AMD. Having the ARM handheld and x86 console with compatibility between them would be a dream come true for NIN. Even if its just a handheld and dock with ARM, that x86 baked in should be the bridge for 3rd party games to run on it fairly easily.

The timeline of how Zen and K12 will be ready by early 2017 and NX launches March 2017 seems suspicious. The fact that NIN has worked with AMD(ATI) since Gamecube, and now for 4 years straight, PS4, Pro, XOne, and Scorpio all have AMD APU's in them, and for good reason, how can't NIN be using AMD?

If it is only a hybrid handheld dock and not a replacement for the mobile handheld space, then NIN shouldn't be to worried about the power draw and battery. If that's what you want there's the 3DS. Play on the go will be the gimmick. You wont be able to play for near as long as you could on a 3DS, but it'll be an new option. (Unless maybe NIN sells one of those backpacks with a li-on battery in it that you can connect the handheld to for extended battery life)
If they do want to replace both, than the handheld just automatically scales down the settings overall when your on the go, saving power on the battery. Drop it in the dock and its got a constant power source and it scales everything up to max settings. (Add the SCD to the dock and overall performance is boosted even more so. Just throwing that out there as a possibility)

When people say "Nintendo can't do this" and "Nintendo can't do that" .... Nintendo does whatever the fuck they please.

No one was expecting the Wii/Revolution to be literally a GameCube overclocked. In fact I remember Nintendo fans on the internet at that time getting very angry at Perrin Kaplan (NOA rep) for saying Wii was only "three times" the power of the GameCube (which actually it wasn't even that). And people started calling her all types of horrible names and saying she didn't know what she was talking about.

Everyone thought for sure Wii U would be close to 1 TFLOP at least, with the AMD 4850 GPU being sighted as the "can't miss" option for Nintendo. The actual Wii U GPU wasn't even close (nor was the CPU, which was supposed to be some super-duper IBM chip).

Just because Nintendo worked with AMD for a while doesn't mean it was going to last forever either. Nintendo worked with Sony (SNES sound chip provider) once upon a time too, they've worked with RAMBUS, IBM, SGI, Sharp, Toshiba, NEC, Matsushita/Panasonic, DMP, etc. etc. over the year, there's not a whole lot of consistency.

Sure, NiN could do whatever the heck they pleased. They could even just continue to ride out the Wii U's success as well... but instead they are dropping that console like last weeks flavor, and coming out with something new. It just so happens that a lot of devs, Ubisoft especially, have been saying NiN has clearly "learned its lesson" and that the new console will be amazing and intriguing.

When third parties are saying that you figured out what your problems were, the same third parties that told PS and MS if you want us to make games for your new consoles, good games, and lots of them, use x86 and make it easy for us, and yourselves, then you can't help but assume the NX must have some ties to x86 in some way. No it doesn't mean it has to be AMD, but considering Nvidia doesn't have x86, and Intel is completely out of the question, who else fits the CPU/GPU needs then?

When you see the competition using AMD all around, and having massive success compared to generations prior, with the devs all agreeing thats the way to go, how can you turn your back to that? NiN can be stubborn yes, but their not stupid. Having a system thats off the shelf cheap to make, cheap to sell, easy to develop for bringing third party titles, easy to upgrade and keeping backwards compatibility going forward, just makes way to much sense. It's what NiN wants, and needs, all in a nice little bundle that AMD provides custom just for you. Who says no to that?

They said it along with everything else in their report, so it's either all correct or all wrong.

Yes, Eurogamer did say their source said a September reveal. So either he was full of shit or the date changed.
