Forums - Movies & TV - I'm happy Suicide Squad is lagging behind BvS

The film is at 700 million USD box office worldwide and it won't grow much. It's kinda nice seeing that Warner butched the movie to turn it into what they fought the audience wanted, but it also isn't much more loved than the movie that made they do this in first place. You don't make a superhero movie for the "general" public and throw away the fans wishes, you make something both can enjoy.

They're both mediocre movies in their own special way.

I think comparing the two is unfair, one has superman and batman as the star, that is basically the highest level of superhero money. I was not a fan of either movies style, but comparing the two box office is not fair.

Suicide Squad isn't even as big a property as either Batman or Superman. I'm surprised it did that well. I mean I didn't think BvS or SS were that good, but it's not like I wished failure on them. That's too dramatic.

I'm happy SS did as well as it did at the box office after getting destroyed in the press by the same so-called professional "critics" who also gave glowing reviews to the Ghostbusters she-boot in order to try to prop up its box office fortunes (76% RT score, what a joke).

Because God forbid a high profile movie with an all-female lead cast flops at the box office. I guess nobody remembers the awful Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. Luckily moviegoers weren't buying it, and the film cost Sony and its agenda-driven execs a boatload of money in the red.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

BvS was released in more markets, wasn't it?

Thanks for the laugh, man. I mean, I'm surprised you even mentioned Suicide Squad at all.

Haven't watched either movie, though I'm planning on watching SS when it's out on blu-ray. Clearly it wasn't just the critics who didn't like it. Look up any thread on it. Most people agree that it wasn't a good movie. Still, I enjoyed Batman VS Superman, so I'm sure I'll enjoy this one, too.

As others said, no surprise it hasn't done as well as BvS. It's still done amazingly well considering all the movies that have flopped/underperformed this year.

I liked Suicide Squad better. BvsS was kinda boring and went on and on and on and on...

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

BvsS wasnt great either... Who failed more? who cares? Neither are great movies.

And SS had Batman vs "Joker" and Harley Quinn. Sure, the first two were more like cameos, but from the trailers, you couldn't tell that.

WB just isn't respecting the properties like they should and just piecing together scenes to make a movie, while hyping them up beyond belief to still get butts in the seats for the first few weeks. Them not making anything near what Marvel does, or what WB did with Dark Knight and DKR, is clear of that.
