Forums - Gaming Discussion - Does Amazon make a point to help microsoft more than sony?

I know people are going to say this is a fanboy question. But I'm not worried about that. I'm only speaking about what I'm seeing.

The PS4 slim and PS4 Pro were just announced. But I noticed that Amazon hasn't been advertising either.

Yet when the XB1 slim was announced, Amazon advertised it immediately. And it stayed advertised for a good month and a half. And even before the slim announcement, Amazon has been putting up all sorts of deals every two months for the OG Xbox 1, adding additional games and peripherals to the already packed XB1 bundles.

But when Sony, they don't do anything like this at all. Anyway, that's just my own personal anaylsis of what I've been seeing.

do you know if Sony paid to be advertised ? If Microsoft did for the Xbox One S I don't see where's the problem IF Sony didn't pay for advertisement...

Who says there's a problem? It's just a question and an obersavtion

PS4 doesn't need to be advertised, look at how its selling, the charts will do the advertisement.

Maybe Microsoft paid for the visibility?

PS4's sell themselves whats the need to advertise a competent device, the Xbox One needs all the help it can it get PS4s fly off shelves, xbox dont however and take up valuable inventory space and clutter backrooms.

close thread ;)

Could just be due to both being American companies, MS realizes how strong of a retailer Amazon and makes a point to have their stuff promoted immediately on it. Could be because of their position as the market leader in this current generation, Sony is spending less on advertising so they aren't contacting Amazon immediately.

Unless we find out that the Xbox Amazon Video app works better then any other version of the app or major executives for both companies are shown to be in deep personal relationship with one another I don't think ads are that big of a deal to say Amazon is favoring Microsoft or not.

Microsoft has to pay for advertising. Sony doesn't.

It's as simple as that.

I'd say it comes down to MS paying for advertising and Sony not. Or at least paying for less prominent adverts. Nothing unusual about that either.
