NX may be a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich laced with cocain...

Seriously tired of the speculation, Nintendo just needs to reveal the damn thing.

Agreed. These threads are getting tiring lol.

But what does it matter now when they ended up choosing Nvidia lol

It doesn't matter much, but if that rumors had been true, that would meant that Nintendo would be in a position where it could have a powerful enough handheld (and with good autonomy with that battery) and a home console as powerful as the PS4Pro.

And instead we'll get a device that's miles away from new consoles and that, if rumors are true, won't be a good handheld either.

Please excuse my bad English.

Meh, Nvidia can give Nintendo anything AMD can, on the mobile side especially AMD can't compete with Nvidia's Tegra line.

Nintendo doesn't want to make a super-powerful console I don't think. It would be difficult to have compatibility between games, the best mobile processor is probably the Tegra X2, the ratio in power difference would simply be too large.

But that has nothing to do with what I was talking about.

If that rumor were true, nowadays Nintendo could compete face to face with both Sony and MSoft on the home console market (and without a PS4/X1 to hold back projects to really make use of the extra power of the new Pro/Scorpio) plus a handheld with no competition besides mobile gaming.

That's not the path Nintendo decided to go, sadly, and it will be one of those cases where we can only agree that it's a missed oportunity from Nintendo.

I see stuff about a 13cm screen and 960x640 resolution, where did you see that the handheld would be more powerful than the Tegra NX? And where do you get the idea that they'd have a home consoles as powerful as the PS4 Pro?

I said that the handheld could have been powerful enough, not that it would be more powerful than the Tegra based NX.

And the notion that the home console could have been as powerful as the PS4Pro comes from the GPU mentioned both in the OP and the linked article in it: a 4.6 TFlops GPU based on the Hawaii powered R9 290X.

At this point, we can also speculate that the system has a solar power component to help battery life when traveling, we can speculate this because frankly it is about as legit as everything else we've heard about the system from these rumors and 'sources'.

That would be a textbook balance fallacy. Or rather an argumentative fallacy asserting that all sources are equally valid/invalid. We know that certain sources, such as Eurogamer, have a strong track record. Of course, we can assume Nintendo is 100% accurate, and therefore announcing the Codename NX is also 100% accurate. That Nintendo's patents are strong evidence toward the considerations that their engineers are making for upcoming hardware.

When you have multiple good sources giving the same information, then it is highly likely to be accurate. It is not the same validity as one bad bit of speculation, like your solar power statement.

This Nintendo Fusion leak was the first leak relating to the NX, and they managed to get the codename accurate. We know that X in Japan generally means Cross/Fusion. And that N always refers to Nintendo in their acronyms. We know that Nintendo was working with supplementary computing devices to enhance experiences on the main device. So it was either accurate for what Nintendo had going at the time in late 2013 and early 2014, or an INCREDIBLY good guess, it would be a smaller chance than 1 in tens of thousands.

Yeah, we know the name NX because it was confirmed by Iwata last year, the fusion aspect is still mainly speculation because nothing has been confirmed, its logical due to Japan's gaming industry favoring handhelds and Nintendo having their strongest foothold there. But so far outside of hints, we still don't know anything. Nintendo patents a bunch of stuff that at times is produced in different forms and at times never sees the light of day.

Here is everything we know about the NX.

- We only know about the NX is the code name.

- It will be Nintendo's next gaming system capable of playing Wii U level games such as Breath of the Wild.

- It is supposed to released sometime next year.

It could be a fusion, it could be brand new console, could be a new type of handheld or even high end cellphone that allows you to play games on the tv, we really don't know and are speculating. Some speculation maybe accurate but not all of it will be and until we get actual confirmation, all should be taken with a grain of salt since it is being filtered through various opinions on what people think/want it to be rather then what it actually is.
