The only thing that would stop me from buying UHD's now is if PlayStation Video gets 4K HDR content, and it is made available for download to an external drive for the PS4 Pro.

Sony Z9D? :P

Yep, XBR-75Z9D!

The thing is amazing. I am still waiting to get it all set up on the proper TV stand (sitting on the Kitchen table right now), once I get it set up on the new stand with the reciver I am going to do a review on here. Should be a great test of the PS4's HRD update next week, and I will update it again once the Pro comes out.

Honestly, I think the praise the Pro recieved from attendees of the event last week was more due to this TV than anything else. If you go to any A/V store and see this thing sitting next to the rest of the TV's it is like looking at an HDTV next to an SDTV. Even the Sony X940D and the LG OLED65G6P look underwhelming next to it, and they were the cream of the crop for the last 3 or 4 years.

With all of the talk about true next gen, this IMO is the true next gen of TV. If you can't afford $6K for the 65" or $9K for the 75", right now, I would seriously wait for this tech to expand to other manufactures, and for prices to fall. Hopefully, Sony will bring out a 55" next year so they break into the ~$4K market. I really feel like the tech behind this TV is what is going to upgrade, more so than 4K, which honestly doesn't do a whole lot.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

It's a very sweet TV and may be what I get soon.

Probably not. 6000 Series Samsungs typically opt to drop extra functionality for their lower price, going so far as to be essentially bad 7000's panels in many cases. Not only that, but they lack the processing power to run an efficient noise algorithm (visual noise, not audible noise) or upscaling. But compared to other 6000 Series, the 6840 rocks. Essentially, this model is the king of the laymen Samsung 4K from last year.

If you were to buy another TV right now, I would recommend the Samsung KS8000 or the Sony 850D. They're both 10-bit (Real HDR), both have efficient lighting systems, and you can get a 55" from either one for less than $1500. The big differences show up in where they choose to run their processing power. Having the stronger processor, the 850D is capable of running a better OS (Android TV) with better upscaling and noise algorithms. The KS8000 opted to use is minimal power to run a better motion flow algorithm, but it lags behind in noise and upscaling. And while its operating system is a joke in comparison, the Samsung does have more conforming blacks compared to the 850D. Both are good gaming TVs, but the 850D should edge the KS8000 in input lag- though not enough for your eyes to tell the difference. There's also a more expensive version of the KS8000 called the KS8500, but the only difference is the curve (which is absolutely, positively worthless on a TV in more than 99.9% of scenarios it would be used in).

Thanks for the information .  Gonna keep my tv for one or two years before looking for a more capable tv's like the one you suggested.

The TV game will be drastically different by then.

I set one of those up at my store the other day. They're intense. What do you do that allowed you to purchase a $9000 TV though?

The news of the new PS4 models leaving out UHD Blu-ray support have shocked the world.  It shocked me, I wanted UHD Blu-ray.  However I want to know if YOU care about 4K and UHD Blu-ray media.

Let us know by answering this poll:

- What is the largest TV you own, in inches?
- Is your largest TV 1080p or 4K?
- Is your largest TV HDR capable?
- How likely are you to own a large format UHD 4K TV in the next two years?
- How likely are you to buy UHD Blu-rays in the next two years?

- Sixty Inches
- 1080p
- No
- Yes, 99%
- 50%, would likely be a video game console that plays them if I did

- What is the largest TV you own, in inches? 92" (projector) 52" LCD
- Is your largest TV 1080p or 4K? 1080p
- Is your largest TV HDR capable? No
- How likely are you to own a large format UHD 4K TV in the next two years? 50%
- How likely are you to buy UHD Blu-rays in the next two years? 50%

It all depends on 4K projectors becoming affordable and able to project 10 bit wide color gamut at 4:4:4 60fps. It might be longer than 2 years, lcd/dlp might not be able to do it :/ Laser projectors can, like this one http://www.sonypremiumhome.com/projectors/VPL-VW5000ES.php $60k :(
