"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Oh yeah. I also forgot that I did watch Elfen Lied a few years ago.

So you have never watched dragon ballz?

Years ago I watched some episodes on TV. I also have Dragon Ball Z  Budokai for the PS2. However, I heard that the English dubs are really butchered and censored compared to the Japanese version.

One Punch Man is possibly the worst one you could watch as an anime neophyte.

It's a parody anime. You'll get the most out it after having watched other shows first.

I've only watched like 3 animes, and yet I loved it. Never expected One Punch Man to be decent.

Maybe it's because I've watched tons of non-anime superhero movies/cartoons?

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

I'm fine with people recommending non-action anime. I just wanted to give people some info so that they would have an idea of what to recommend. I'll check that anime out if I have the chance. Thank you!

Nice, that's even better. I just think if you're getting into Japanese culture, you'd appreciate something more grounded.

Manga is also a good option, if you don't mind reading. Neither medium will completely teach you the language, but reading manga made it easier for me to pick up on random vocab. In One Piece, for example, most of the powers have very simple names that are repeated over and over, so you can't help but pick the words up.

So One Punch Man is like Superman? Or like how in Persona 4 Chie does her Galactic Punt?

It's a superhero anime, but it's mostly a comedy. It revolves around a comically overpowered main character who struggles for recognition, and is usually ignored due to misunderstandings and the fact that his fights are always too short too appreciate.

If you watch it as a comedy, you'll enjoy it. Like Boutros said, it's a basically a parody of older anime like Dragonball Z, but I think anyone can appreciate the fantastic animation and the humor.

Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Ghost in the Shell are classics I rattle off every time. Other picks I've enjoyed include Samurai Champloo, Death Note, Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, and The Big O. My recommendation that hasn't been listed here by others yet is the very underappreciated Moribito:

Might be on Netflix in your area.

Don't watch Neon Genesis Evangelion. I watched this shit again this week and I'm feeling even more depressed than usual.

Well, I love Silent Hill 2 which has a pretty depressing storyline, so I may like this too.

you will like it, but after seeing it make shure to see the movies, especially End of Evangelion.

Also while it might not be your cup of tea I suggest everyone who wants to see anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya since it's my favourite Anime of all time, it might look like the classic school anime but trust me, there's a BIG TWIST, also the movie The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya which follows the story of the only two seasons of the anime is simply a masterpiece. Just so you know if you chose to watch this anime, contact me or anyone who already saw it to prepare you psychologically once you end season 1

All the anime that aired on Toonami(90's-00's), Kids WB, Fox Kids, Adult Swim.
