Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 Slim: Hands On Impressions [Digital Foundry]

As much as I like the look of the original PS4, I'd but the Slim over the original hearing this. But I'm still getting a Pro over a slim.

Sounds good but nobody should buy this over the Pro.

If Gamestop has a deal I may trade my PS4 for a Pro.

Nobody should buy either over their original imo. It's basically like spending 400 dollars for a patch to allow your console to bump the resolution.

So you shouldn't change gens as well. Go back to Atari.

What a waist of money this Pro will be for current owners. Most games wont even take advantage of this extra power . If people are hoping for graphics settings like what you get with PC then keep dreaming because that isn't going to happen. The only thing I can think of is virtual reality but if thats the case then they might as well delay it and bring it out with the PS5.

This just alienates current owners from virtual reality if this is what they are doing. It also means that if people want virtual reality they will need to get the pro and pay for the virtual reality kit. Very expensive. especially for people who already have a PS4.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

They have time and time again said current PS4 owners will get the full experience (even HDR is being enabled for original units) including VR. What is expected is that with the extra power the experience will be better on the PRO, more so with the VR.

Chaning generations provides more than just resolution bumps.

This kinda attitude is just ******.... dont wanna get banned.

Let's look at it this way..

Is the PS4 a good 900p/1080p console?

Will the PS4 pro give you an all round better experience compared to the PS4?

If the answer to both questions is yes? then Then the question is if you are willing to spend a little more for that.

But let's look at something else, XB1s is $300, then $350 and $400.... their justification for that is a bigger HDD. But yet a console that offers a spec and inherently a performance bump along with a bigger HDD isn't worth it?

And I don't know what you are saying, VR works on the PS4. Yeit will be better in the PS4pro. But it works on the PS4. what you are saying is like saying that because the XB1s can output to 4k TVs then anyone that wants to get an XB1s/PS4pro must get a 4k tv too. Hate it when people talk like they haven't got choices and some company has got a gun to your head.

Provides news games... guess what, Pro will have new games, only thing is that you are able to play on original PS4 if you don't care about the extra whistle and bells

If you can play the games on PS4 Vanilla, it's not a new console. Hell, it's not even CALLED something else. It's a PS4 Pro. It has the name PS4 right there for crying out loud.

You're paying 400 bucks for some spit shine. Now, if you want to pay that much money for a little polish, go right ahead. But make no mistake, that's what you're paying for. PS5 is the real next console and for those of us who are ok with 1080P, that's the console we'll be getting, not PS4 Pro. I'm not spending $800.00 dollars for two consoles that play the exact same games.

Pay for whatever you want... but just to remember that PC can play in a way or another games several year ahead or back, so all PC are the same?

If you don't want the polish or can't pay for it don't expect others to share your opinions.

I'll ignore the not-so-subtle attempt to demean me by calling me poor and instead focus on reiterating what I said. I'm not going to spend $800.00 for two consoles that play the exact same games. I'll upgrade when Sony releases a true, next generation system.
