The Slim is okay if you have no plan on getting a 4K HDR TV soon.
Its cheap, runs really cool & quiet compaired to other PS4s or even the XB1 slim.

Very nice. The look has actually grown on me and the initial low resolution pictures and box art made it look really bad. I would have bought a Slim if it had 4k blu ray playback even though I own an original PS4!

Why not? If you're someone who doesn't care about having the most up to date tech and just wants to play PS4 games the Slim is a great way to go.

I hear ya but were talking about 100 bucks. If a person is already committing to 300, they can get 100 more.

My cousin, brother and friend are planning on getting the slim. Another friend is planning on getting the Pro. Personally, if I didn't already have a PS4, I would pick up a pro but a 300 new ps4 model will do really well for families and more casual gamers.

The Slim is for people who don't own a PS4 yet. Pro is for PS4 owners looking for better experience. Doesn't make sense for a current owner to buy the Slim.

Nobody should buy either over their original imo. It's basically like spending 400 dollars for a patch to allow your console to bump the resolution.

It depends on what games offer improved visuals and performance at 1080p. At launch though most games seems to be focused on the resolution bump.
